Hi
I am at 38 +4 and yesterday doc told I m at 4 cm. Means baby can come anytime. My edd was 10 jul. Doc said if Labour does start will induce me on 7th.
Same day evening I started having cntxs but random, painful though.
Today morning I had dark brown mucous and doc said it could be be cos of cervix exam, wait for cntxnns.
I had 1 or 2 cntxnns in morning, then now in evening painful but irregular.
I kept having more uncomfortable bh whole day though.
Now my sis is telling me to get checked out by Thursday/tomorrow at hospital if nothing happens as 4 cm is significant.
I am also worried if I should wait till monday. It's very uncomfortable for me. Sometimes my pelvic area hurts like it's crushed. I have been crying whole day today.
What do you say.

With my first pregnancy, I was about 4cm dilated and I labored about 6 hours before getting admitted to the hospital.

I was 7 cm dilated when I got checked there.

I would say if your contractions are 5 mins apart, you could head to the hospital.

Fyi, I was 4cm for about 2 weeks so just because you are dilated does not mean baby will come soon.

One reason I refused internal exams in late pregnancy is that your cervix dilation doesn't mean a lot. Some go into labour with no warning. Some walk around for weeks 4cm dialated. The exam often causes spotting and cramping and gets you stressed and doesn't tell you much IMO.

Why does your doctor want to induce you before your due date? Being 4cm isn't really a medical reason to be induced

I agree with Bunny-if there is no reason to induce why would they do that? I would do some reading on how those drugs affect you and your baby before agreeing to that...pitocin is no joke!

I hope you and baby are doing well, Misha.

I was 4 cm and fully effaced for three weeks before baby decided it was time to come out and my water broke. Every time my OB saw me, we worked at the same hospital, she was like, "You're still pregnant?"
