How long was your 2nd labour???

My DD was very short, 4 hours start to finish but I was induced with a pessary so not sure if this sped the whole labour up. I am now due my 2nd and have heard stories about them being quicker so am intrigued to see the comparison between first and subsiquent labours!

my first was something like 4 or 5 hours, my second from first contraction to hold baby was 2.5 hours..

my first labor was 22 hours and 48 minutes, my 2nd labor was 13 hours and 31 minutes and my 3rd labor was 33 1/2 hours long all from when i was admitted to hospital

My first active labour was 15 hours with g&a, epidural, ventouse and 3rd degree tear.

My second was 3 1/2 hours with barely a whiff of g&a

my first from very first pain untill having him was 6 1/2 hours with no pain relife, and my second from first pain untill having her was 6 hours again with no pain relife

my first was 3hours but they broke my water at exactly 40 weeks because i was already 3 cm open at the checkup then my second labor after 11 years was three hours as well from when my water broke till i had her at 38+3 weeks maybe it was just good luck , good luck to you and hope that you will have a good labor

Thanks for all of your replies, it seems most are the same or shorter which is good news! I am 1cm at the moment but nothing else is happening barring the back ache and being uncomfortable!

Bobby was 4 hours 25 mins from first pain.

Darcy was 2 hours 29 mins from first pain xx

I was induced with dd1 and labour was around 4 1/2 hrs start to finish but second labour was 25 hrs but i enjoyed the second labour so much more as it was much more of a gentle build up, when i was induced the pain was bad from first contraction.

Hi - With my DD1 my labour was 7 and a half hours, with DD2 (with a 13 yr age gap) my labour was 22 hours

Those of you that replied with active labour...what is active labour lol?
Waters broke 1.15am
Contractions started 4am
Pushing from 6am ish when got back to hosp
Born 7.21am

what bit is classed as what lol? (intrigued as whole thing was only 6, so i dont want to go tooooo quick lol!)

Active labour is classed from when your cervix is dilated to 4 or 5cm.

SO difficult to tell from your stats but I would say that your active labour was pretty quick!

Thanks! I have no idea when I dilated as got back to hosp at 6am - fully dilated lol!
