Hi

I am ttc, I would like something to happen sooner rather than later as I am in my mid thirties and hubby in his late thirties. Its only been 4 months of trying so far and Im a little concerned I will let my husband down. Before I met him my period stopped completely and I lost a lot of weight now four years on I have gained more weight and my cycles have returned to 28 days on average. This month I decided to buy an ovulation kit from Superdrug, I tested on day 11, 13, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, and 21 and still no surge. Im on day 22 today and am a little confused, could I have missed my O say on days 12 or 14? how long will a surge last? I think I need to perfect my testing methods, any advice would be gratefully received.

Thanks Ladies, Jo x :hugs:

I think u would benefit from a digital opk (clearblue).

theres none of the trying to work out if the lines dark enough etc.

just a smiley face when u are and a circle when u arent.

my advice is do not buy these from a shop, eBay has them for half the cost.

I bought a pack of seven sticks for £22.99 from superdrug and dont get me wrong they are brilliant but a little pricey considering eBay do the same ones for £9.99

I bought the pack of 20 from ebay for £21.99 and boots are selling them for nearly £40.00

I got the 20 so i could test everyday to see exactly how long my surge lasts.

U may benefit from this too.

fx'd for u

I shall get some of those clearblue tests for next month, I will go have a look on ebay in a bit.

I think we are already out this month as he's been keeping his best swimmers for the right day and so not alot to bet on this month.

So do you reckon I need to test everyday than? x

Its best to fork out on the expensive ones.

To be honest considering u didnt have periods for a while etc then yea i would just so u dont miss out on the big o

The whole have less sex to get more swimmers is a misconception.

My doctor told me that building up isnt a good thing and doesnt normally mean that more swimmers are there.

My doctor recommended have sex once every 2 days so there is a constant flow of swimmers going.

Next month will be my second month of using clearblue digital and i have found them really usefull so far as i would have missed out on the crucial O!

I also bought a bbt thermometer on eBay for £4.00 this i am going to start doing to, marking my temperature every morning before i get up, some people find this really usefull.

Hope this helps
