There's no evidence to support the 'wait 3 cycles' advice given my some gp's. I think it's more whether the person is emotionally ready to start trying again. It's more a personal choice.
I just had a conversation with EPU at my hospital. I had miscarriage on 25th August at 10 weeks. My midwife said to start trying straight away if that was what we felt was right.
The hospital just said wait for at least 1 cycle as there is a stronger possibility of miscarrying again! Don't know what the right thing is!! Confused now!!
We aren't using any protection so we shall see what happens!!
as I experienced and have read many post that tells that it really doesn't metter,..............most imp. thing is that you should be prepare again for this emotionally and physically.
normally dr. advice to wait for 1 circle.......or sometime 3 circle....
So I think its totally up to you.................when you feel like trying again.......my dr. adviced me to wait for 2pd after my 2nd mc in row,........but now i am trying again after 1
hope this could help you a bit.
I was told that you can try again as soon as you feel ready, but that there is a higher risk (about 1.5 times higher) of miscarriage in the cycle that begins with your miscarriage (if that makes sense). But my nurse also said that she has dozens of patients who get pg straight away without any problems so again I guess it depends on the individual.
Just make sue you are physically recovered - no infections etc. and that you are emotionally ready for it (if that is ever truly possible - i wasn't really ready for my 1st BFP even thought I really wanted it!).
I wasn't really told anything just to try when I felt ready. We decided to wait one cycle and it was after this I was pregnant again. My friend became pregnant without waiting for her first period and has just given birth to a healthy baby boy.
