how many calories do you need when breast feeding?

just that really. i weigh alot so i reckon i probably need to eat around 2500-3000 calories to stay the same, so if i have around 2000 i reckon i will lose at a sensible rate.i know it sounds alot but i am big.
but the most important thing for me is i dont intefer with my milk-does anyone know if this sounds right?
 
I would say around 1800 to 2000 a day to lose weight at around 1-2 pounds a week. If you start losing too fast add on 100 cals at a time until the weightloss evens out:thumbup:
Also drink lots and lots of water as you get crazy dehydrated whilst breastfeeding and that can be mistaken for hunger!:hugs:
 
thank you- have had 2000 the last couple of days and it seems to be working ok-shamefully its lots less than i was eating on a bad day!
