How many christmas lights?

I have a new 9ft tree how many lights will i need?

Probably looking around the 600 mark that's just to add a little bit of twinkle. It all depends on how wide it is too. Say it's 5ft diameter at the bottom, you will need more lights than say a 3ft diameter one.

I have 400 on my 6ft one so yes upwards of 600 if only decorating one side. (Ie. Up against a wall) more if you are decorating all the way round

I have a 7ft tree and I think we only have 300 on ours! Maybe I need more

I use a lot but I'm very anal about it.. I weave them.in and out so they're not just on the surface of the branches and I decorate all the way around like that because I put my tree in front of our picture window.. I usually buy more than I need and use the rest for other projects or return extras if I don't need them.

Eta- I think I have like 1000 or more on my tree and it's 7 ft..
