How many cycles to wait?

There is so much conflicting info on how many cycles to wait after a mc before trying again. Has anyone seen any studies on whether it matters or not? I had a mc in June, tried right away but took two cycles to get pregnant again. Lost the second one, and I want tp try right away again but dont want to lose a third. What is everyone else doing?

Hi laughing duck. With my early MC back in Dec at 5w2d I didn't wait. I fell preganant during my third cycle and lost that one at 9 weeks. This time I waited a month before trying again. I'm still trying now and that was 5 months ago.
With my early MC I was told that there was no reason to wait at all. With my second I only waited a full cycle as I had a D&C.
If you feel your body needs a break then waiting one full cycle won't hurt. As the MC was very early you can try again straight away however if you wish. Sorry for your loss

If you have a natural miscarriage/chemical, you can start trying again right away. There is some (limited) evidence that says you're more fertile right after a loss, so if you're feeling up to it, I don't see a reason to wait. Sorry about your losses. I hope your rainbow baby is right around the corner!

Thanks. My doc wants me to hold off this cycle because she wants to do some hormone testing but says the cycle after a miscarriage is wonky, so we need to wait a cycle to get accurate results. I have a feeling I may be one of those women who doesnt ovulate after a mc anyway, as I did not get get a positive opk pregnant the cycle after my last one, and did not get pregnant (I seem to get pregnant very easily, it was the only cycle I didnt get pregnant first shot).

I had a MC in June and my doctor said I could try again but I couldn't use fertility drugs util one cycle later.

My friend lost her baby in beginning of may and conceived right away again and is past the 3 month mark. I honestly think it depends on your body...i wish you all the luck whatever you decide

I'm sad to read about this laughingduck, I remember you from when we both first started trying a few months back. I'm in the same boat right now. Doc recommends 3 months, but I really don't want to wait that long! He says at least wait until after a 'normal' period. I'm also afraid of trying too early and losing it.
