My LO is a good sleeper and normal has between 27-30oz per day 5oz every 3 hr. However she's started getting groggy at night time so I'm moving her bedtime from 11pm to 9pm. We stayed at 10pm for a while and now I'm moving to 9pm.

However, because of this she is now dropping a feed. Will she need this? Should I wake her to feed?

How many oz should she be having? She is 10 weeks and weighed 11.3lbs at 7 weeks (not been weighed since!)

Thanks xxxx

I read that to work out how many ounces, times your baby's weight by 2. That's the minimum amount they should have although it's only a guideline.

As much as she wants, really. My daughter was a huge baby 10.7 at birth and with that weight they said she should have at least 20 oz a day and we were lucky to get 15-16 oz in a day. She was never a big drinker and still isnt. She is 21.5 lbs and still only drinks 24 oz a day but she does eat alot of solids so it makes up for it. Just follow your babies cues and she should be fine. I wouldn't be waking a baby to feed them unless they were sickly. But this is just my opinion.

Ok just I was stressing about her taking less milk and replacing it with sleep! Thank you for your help!!!

I would be interested to know how many oz other babies take as well though? Call me obsessive!!! Xxx

Try not to worry (easier said than done I know). If she's hungry she'll wake up earlier or shift it onto larger bottles in the day. Good luck

Dd never was a great drinker, she'd struggle to get to the 2oz per pound level. This level is as they drink BTW, not how many scoops I was told. So if you're making say 5 bottles with 7 scoops theres actually 8oz in the bottle, so 40oz in total.
Ds is happily having somewhere between 35-45oz a day (nearer the 45 mark usually) and is 16lb.

My DD is nearly 14lbs and on a good day drinks 25oz. Usually around 22oz. So technically isn't drinking 'enough' but she's happy and gaining wait.

I didn't know you went by the actual volume in the bottle after you've added water and formula! Thanks for that! Actually if its twice their weight then my LO is taking a bit too much anyway! So I feel a bit relieved! I heard it was 2.5 times their weight??? Xxx

Between 2 - 2.5x their weight is the goal, but they will have off-days & growth spurts...
