Just curious how different healthcare is across the world on here. Here in the uk the standard amount of scans you get are two-one at 12 weeks and a 20 week scan. (You get more if they are needed as I have had in this and my last pregnancy)

So where in the world are you and how many will you get? :)

I'm BC, Canada and it's the same. One early scan and one 20 week scan unless there is a reason to need another (I had a scan a week after my 20 week scan to check for appendicitis)

Last time I had a scan around 38 weeks because they couldn't figure out if baby was breech or not.

But typically only 2 scans!

I'm in the US and I only had a 20 week scan with my first, and with my second (different doctor) I had a 12 week and a 20 week scan. I also had a growth scan at 32 weeks due to previous IUGR, and will probably have one this time too.

In US and had I followed the standard I would have gotten one possibly for dating(I know my date but had I wanted a scan could have said I was not sure) and then one at 18ish weeks.
I refuse scans so I will have 0 unless I see a medical need. I would not trust a scan later on as heard to many women be told the baby is really big or really small and needs to come out now and it not be the case. Sadly the trend seems to be coming of a 34-36 week scan for position and size. In some cases they are good late term but I think if this continues there will be more and more failed inductions as baby is just not ready and emergency C sections.

I'm in Minnesota, US and I get 2. one between 8 and 12 weeks "dating scan" and the 20 week anatomy scan.

Im in the UK so should only have 2 but currently have had 4. I have another booked for 28 weeks not sure if I will need any more x

I'm in the US and with both pregnancies I had one around 8 weeks, 12 weeks, and 20 weeks. This time I'm at a new office and they do another scan around 34 weeks. Oh and I have at 28 weeks this time because baby is measuring big.

I'm in FL, US. I had an early dating scan, to confirm pregnancy, and I will be having my 20 weeks scan to check on organs/etc next week. I think I may have one more after this, but I'm not entirely sure.

Two  as I'm in the UK and low risk (currently!)

I'm in the UK, but because we're taking part in a research study, we're lucky enough to have additional scans so we have them at 12 weeks, 14 weeks, 20 weeks, 30 weeks and 34 weeks and most of them include a 4D scan ( meaning we found the gender out yesterday at just before 15 weeks!) I feel incredibly lucky to get to see my baby so many times!

I had a 12 week scan and will have one more unless there's a medical need. I'm in the US.

I've had 3 so far and I'm only 14 weeks, but the first 2 were early scans at an RE. My regular OB did one last appt at 11 weeks. I guess I won't expect to have another one until 20 weeks then? That's a bummer. I was really hoping for another one at my next appt next week!! Boo!!!

I am in Spain. I went through IVF and originally had twins (but lost one). Now I am seeing that I have a crazy amount of scans! At 16 weeks, I have already had 4 and she wants to continue with one scan per month until the end. I know that at first I was considered high risk, but think I am pretty normal now that I just have a singleton. But maybe that is why she is scanning so much? No complaining about it here though!

I am in the UK will have 4 NHS scans (6 weeks, 12 weeks, 20 weeks and 34 weeks) and we had one private one at 16 weeks.

My 6 week scan was because I had fertility treatment (to check for multiple babies etc) and the one at 34 weeks is to check on the placenta previa which was seen at the 20 week scan.

In the uk and due to my history I've had one at 5 weeks, 7, 12,16,20,21 and today. Regular scans then to check blood flow and growth. Next one in 3 weeks then every 3/4 weeks. X

I'm uk, had one at 10 weeks as didn't know dAtes, then the usual 12 and 20 and at 22 weeks I had an echo and detailed heart scan but that was my last unless something unexpected comes up. Xx

I had one at 12 weeks and have one at 19+6 next week. I am sure I will have more after my first being preemie with IUGR and placental abruption. I am hoping for one around 30 weeks.

I'm in Ontario,Canada and had one at 8.5, 12, 16.5, 20, and he said next one at 32 (not sure after that one). 16.5 was due to a bleed and 32 is due to that bleed also (doc said due to a second tri bleed that he likes to watch for any sign of placental abruption @ 32 weeks.

In US, so far I have had a dating scan at 8 weeks, NT scan at 12 weeks and will have a mid-pregnancy scan at 20 weeks. After that there should be no scans, unless there are complications, is what my doc told me.

My friend also had the same 3 scans so far, with a different practice.
