How many scans will you get in your pregnancy?

with ds I had two. One at 20 weeks, another at 40w5d. I probably would have only had the first but because I was past my edd, they wanted to make sure all was well with him.

With this one, I had one at 9 weeks, and I know I will have one around 20 weeks but other than that I don't know. I was surprised when they scheduled the one at 9 weeks. Wasn't expecting it.

US: I had one at 8+6, 12+6 and another around 20 weeks, also 37 weeks.

Going for a private gender at 14 weeks.

My doctor's office typically does 3: a dating scan around 8 weeks, an anomaly scan between 18-22 weeks and a pre-delivery scan around 36-37 weeks.

With my son, I had the first two standard scans, but because he was born at 36 weeks, before the last scan, I never had that one. I also had two other scans at the hospital due to issues. I fell down the stairs so they checked on him then and when I went into labor at 33.5 weeks, they also checked. I guess that's 4 for him.

With my daughter, I've already had three and should have one more (fingers crossed to no complications). I had one scan with my RE at 7 weeks before she discharged me back to my OBGYN. The OBGYN then did her own dating scan at 10 weeks, plus I had my anomaly scan today at 18 weeks.

In Australia. Generally you get two with a normal pregnancy. I'll be having 3 as my first two babies had a lowish birth weight at term.

I was planning on just one. Usually here they do two, sometimes three. However, I've already had four due to complications. Will be having another next week but it's just an internal on my cervix, I'm not sure if they'll be checking the baby. I have a feeling I'll be having a few more, too, whether they're scans of the baby or my cervix, time will tell. :)

Im uk and aside from the 12&20 weeks I've had 2 epau booked scans and will be having extra scans at 26,30 and 34 weeks as well as possibly 23 weeks although 23 is not booked but consultant has said she would like to do one at my next appointment, depends if she remembers i guess. Im classed as very high risk though hence the extra scans.

Uk and standard 2. I had a private viability scan though and had one at 12 week (as nhs was at 13 and hubby wouldn't make it) will also be booking 4d for 7-8 weeks time.

I am in Alberta, Canada, and I will get 3 if everything goes smoothly.

1 as soon as pregnancy is confirmed by blood test to date the pregnancy, 1 at 11-13 for NT test, and 1 at 20 weeks.

I've had the standard 12 and 20 week nhs scans and a repeat one at 24 weeks as they couldn't get all the views of her spine at the 20 week one. I also paid for a private scan at 8 weeks and will be paying for a 4D one at 28 weeks. Afaik thats it unless I need a growth scan I guess.

I'm in Scotland. Normally you will get 2...One at 12 weeks and 1 at 20 weeks. I had 8 weeks, 12 weeks, private scan at 18 weeks and anomaly at 20 weeks. I will have another at 28 weeks, 32 weeks and 36 weeks because of the likelihood that I will have a very large baby and they don't want me to be carrying an 11-12lber to term because of my spine problems xx

I've had 4 up to now...5+1, 7+4, 11 & 12+4 I'm down as high risk and I have my 20 week scan to have yet aswell as growth scans at 28 & 30 weeks so that will be 7 scans in total but I'm contemplating booking a private gender scan at 16 weeks as I don't think I can wait nearly 8 weeks for anomaly scan

So far I've had 8+3 (reassurance scan) 12+3 and 20+3 . had a private scan at 21+4 to find out the gender as they were unable to tell at the 20wk scan and I've to go back at 32+3 as my placenta lying too low so they want to check if it moves up any.

Loads! :haha:

High risk of miscarriage so I had 6 between 5 & 16 weeks. I then need extra growth scans due to being on blood thinners, first is at 24 weeks but don't have the schedule after that. I guess they'll be at least another 2

Add in the anomaly scan plus a private gender scan at 17 weeks & 4d scan at 28 weeks = a very well photographed baby! :haha:

Im in Cyprus and have had one at 5wks, 6wks and 10wks. Have my NT scan next week at 13wks and then I'm not sure how often they are. From what I've read they seem to be monthly up until 8 months when they go to weekly

i have had 6!!! dating scan at 12 weeks, gender scan at 16 weeks, 4d scan at 27 weeks, growth scan at 28 weeks, rowth scan at 34 weeks, im not having anomore lol

I have had 2 on the NHS so far, and 1 private scan. I then have 20 week scan, where they'll decide if I need scanning every 2 weeks from 24 weeks due to growth, if not then I have a scan booked for 28 weeks, 34 weeks and 36 weeks for growth based on the fact everything seems to be going normal. If growth is reduced from 28 weeks which it was in first two pregnancies I'll get scans every week from then until birth, one for doppler a week and one for growth every two weeks.

I had about 25+ in my last pregnancy, was mental! Couldnt afford the scan pics in the end at £4 a pop :haha:

In France the standard is 3, one per trimester. Dating scan, anomoly scan and a growth scan to check position etc.

I had 5 with my daughter, one at 8 weeks since the hospital didn't believe me on my dates (I had a MC right before conceiving her but I temp so I know my dates!) and another growth scan in third tri because my fundal height was behind.

I had one at 6 weeks with this one because of a big bleed but hopefully that'll be my only extra :)
