How many weeks?

Here's a really stupid question: my blood test last Friday showed I was 2 weeks pregnant,but my LMP puts me at 6 weeks.

Is the 2 weeks from implantation?I'm only getting a scan at the beginning of February.

I guess I'm confused as to how a blood test can put you at 2 weeks pregnant...a blood test will confirm the presence of a pregnancy, and you can also derive hcg levels from the blood tests, but I fail to see how that would actually date your pregnancy. To my understanding, only a scan can accurately date your pregnancy, not blood tests.

That's what I also don't understand.The doctor's office didn't even take the time to explain,just said that and rang off.

I'm just going to go off my LMP,until I get my scan.

hcg levels will show you are pregnant from conception/ovulation - so you will then add 2 weeks

some people ovulate sooner or later but its usually day 14 of your cycle so they usually date your pregnancy starting from 2 weeks before which would be your lmp date
if you know the exact date you ovulated then go back 14 days
