Hi! I am new here. I was wondering if anyone here has had more than three c-sections? I have a 12 year old and a 4 year old, we plan on trying for a third next month, by time the baby is born it will be over 5 years since my second c-section. I am terrified!! I read all these things that can happen with placenta previa, accreta (sp?), blood clots... I am almost talking myself out of the third that I want. Any advice? I am making an appt with my OBGYN to go over everything, I don't know if a VBAC is even an option for me, I am also overweight, so I am worried that will effect it. I am just terrified of something bad happening after the surgery, blood clots mainly, they terrify me!!

I just had my 4th c-section. No complications, me and baby are both healthy! I was scared to get pregnant with my 2nd, because "what if something happens and I leave my beloved firstborn behind". Same again when I fell pregnant for the 3rd, and the 4th time. I think it's normal to be scared. I decided it's worth it though, after making sure from my dr that there isn't any reason that I should not get pregnant. Good luck with your decision!

hi there!!!!! yay, i totally understand where your coming from, i want a 3rd baby after 2 c sections! but like you, its all the 'what if's' that come flooding in :nope: but i suppose the baby has to come out one way or another...i worried myself sick with previous 2 pregnancies, so if i did get pregnant i should imagine i will be the same, i just cant help myself! but the fact that ive had 2 previous mc's too dosnt help things! keep us posted, and welcome to this site! i love it :happydance: and remember everything in life has 'risks'

I'll be having #4 at the end of this month... So far so good, but I'll be having a tubal with this one. :)

this will be c section number 4 for me.

I'm nervous as it will have only been 18 months since the last one

(I know this wasn't directed at me, but...)

I was not nervous about my 3rd as it had been 8 years in-between the two. I am freaking out about this one as I am due in about 3 weeks and still don't have anything scheduled. Both this pregnancy and my last went fairly smoothly. I tend to get hematomas, but that had nothing to do with the c-sections as I had it with my first as well. There will be about 18 months between this one and my last so I obviously didn't wait long. My Dr's seem pretty confident that this will go smoothly.

Hope that helped a bit, and let me know if you have any questions!

hey thanks so much for your reply! hope all goes well for you....between my first n second section there was about 4yr 6mth and my lil one is 2yr 7mth so i know time wise ive been sensible and waited...iam not trying to concieve just have to pluck up the courage haha! how come you havnt got a date yet? would it not been an automatic 38-39wk er......take care and keep us posted.:flower:

My Dr has been on maternity leave herself... and there was a mixup, I thought it was scheduled, but it never was. Now I am terrified that they're going to tell me that all the dates are booked. I know that is totally crazy, but it still scares me.

Good to hear I'm not so crazy after all... I keep finding myself saying that I am ready... etc, but when DH and I were talking about what dates I should talk to the Dr about he mentioned the 10th, and I freaked out! That is ONLY 1 week from today! ahh! So not ready!

I GOT A DATE!!!! Yayay! I'm Scheduled for my due date, October 24!

I know c-sections are scary. Any surgery is really. For me b/w DS1 and DD (25 months) and b/w DD and DS2 (29 months). And b/w DS2 and DS3 (11 1/2 months give or take a few days). Since I haven't had too much trouble this time around I have faith it will go according to plan. And I myself am about 40 to 60 pounds overweight to boot. So GL!

Update!

Johnathan David is here!

He was born via unscheduled C-Section on Sunday, October 21,2012 at 12:08 pm. He weighed 7 lbs 0 oz and is 19 inches long. We are home, and doing well.

That's wonderful news!! :happydance: Congrats, and enjoy your brandnew baby boy! :baby:
