Hi!

I'm wondering how much formula feed you give (or gave) your LOs at 4 months, and how often you feed? Freya seems to have been on the same amount for quite a while. She has 150ml - water mixed with powder or 180ml - ready made from carton, every 3 hours and has 6 feeds a day at roughly 8.30am, 11.30am, 2.30pm, 5.30pm and a dream feed at 11pm.

I'm don't know whether I should keep her on what she is, since she isn't always finishing every bottle, or try increasing her amount slightly and sticking to 6 feeds a day, or to increase her to 210ml powdered/230ml ready made and give her five 4 hourly feeds??

I know all babies are different and feeding amounts can depend on weight...Freya was 7lb 6 born and is now 14lb 10, and has continually tracked the 50 centile so her weight gain is not an issue! But would just like to know what other mom's do!

Thanks, Cal x

Joe is around the same age as Freya and takes 4 x 7oz bottles & 1 x 8oz bottles during the day every 3 hours. His last feed is usually around 9pm and then he sleeps through til the morning.
Yesterday he had an extra oz in one of his bottles which he drained, so we're gonna try having 2 8oz bottles in a day now, as he seems ready for that.
Hope that helps x

Izzy has 8oz feeds 4 times a day- 7, 11, 3, 7. She sometimes has some in the night too.

I just moved Kane onto 7oz this week, he has a feed roughly every 3hours, goes to bed around 8.30/9.00pm sometimes later if he's being fussy then gets up around 3am for a feed.

The guide is that when they are draining the bottles its time to put them up an ounce. My LO is 3 1/2 months old and recently we went from 3 hourly feeds (4oz) to 4 hourly feeds and she is draining the 5oz bottles now. Sou cud maybe move to 4 hourly feeds and see how u go.
