i am now totally dif. with gaining weight than i was with my daughter...

i gained 5 lbs so far. where is that in the range?? All in the past 2 weeks :D i am not worried since i have some problems this pregnancy, just wondering, i think by now wit my dd i had gained about 15 lbs... this one is a boy

I have somehow lost 4lb even though my bump is getting bigger and baby is growing fine

I have gained a totaly of 6lbs so far and I am 21w1d! Totally normal. In my first pregnancy I had gained over 20lbs at this point...so this is also very different for me. I'm told its normal not to gain a whole bunch...in the 3rd tri is when the weight starts to really creep on as baby chubs up a bit more.

i also lost 18 lbs, still vomiting... started eating ... yeah dont wanna gain 70 lbs again but i am more than willing too, had a healthy baby. that is what counts for me :D

I've gained 8 lbs so far, but that's counting from my lowest weight during pregnancy. I'm only 4 lbs more than my pre pregnancy weight. I lost a little at the beginning due to all the morning sickness.

omg, ive gained about 10-12lbs so far, is that bad? I was about 9 stones to start with and a size 8-10. Im a bit worried now xx

i would not at all!! i am suprised of everyone gaining this little, my doctor stresses i dont gain enough...

like i said with my daughter i gained easy 15 lbs at this point

Wow! Everyone seems to have gained so little so far! I have gained 8 pounds, which I thought wasn't that much, but maybe it is?

The standard advice is 10lbs in the first 20 weeks and then another 20lbs in the second 20 weeks. Of course everyone is different! Some people gain significantly more, some people don't put any on or even lose it.

If you're eating healthily and your midwife/doctor is happy then there's no need to worry.

so far ive gained the most! oh what the hell, im just indulging a bit more, im usually really strict with what i eat, ill lose it afterwards, as long as im healthy xx

WOW, I've gained 23lbs so far, does that mean I win :haha: I'm not worried at all about the weight I've gained though. My doctor said that because I was underweight to start with (I was 110lbs and 5'7, had a super fast metabolism) that my weight gain is good, and that I have to gain more weight than the average person. Plus my thyroid has gone wonky since becoming pregnant which makes me put on weight easily, even though I'm now on medication for it. Still, I was surprised that I've gained so much more than you all!!

They say 20-30 lbs is normal weight gain for the entire pregnancy. I would think for stretch mark avoidance a nice gradual weight gain is the way to go. I probably would have more weight gain, but I think I lost a lot of muscle in the first trimester when I was so sick and couldn't exercise. I think 10-12 lbs sounds perfect. My mom is a really healthy eater and she gained 30 lbs with her first two pregnancies, 40 with her 3rd and 50 on her 4th and 5th. So, I just eat when I'm hungry and let my body pack on what it needs to. Incidentally, does anyone rlse find they need snacks in the middle of the night? 8 hours is too long for me to go without eating. I start to feel really sick!

I have gained 20 lbs already. This is my first time. I never had sickness so i ate as normal the whole time and also was taken off exercise for the first 12 weeks.....I had been very very active till then so I think my metabolism just slowed wayyyy down

well it is said that with baby, water and blood you gain 29 lbs either way... so if gain less you are actually loosing weight. i gained 70 and loved it because my baby was healthy i think 20-30 pound the entire pregnancy is not good :D the only time you can enjoy eating without guilt. i went from 120 to 190 and have not a single stretch mark ...

I don't have any stretch marks either, and my weight gain has been very rapid. I read somewhere that stretch marks are genetic, but not sure if that's true or not. The amount of weight you gain depends on how much you weigh pre pregnancy. If your average sized its 25-35 pounds, underweight its 28 - 40, and overweight its 15-25. But honestly I believe as long as mother and baby are healthy it doesn't matter how much weight is gained.

When I was preggo with DD I think I had gained 5Lbs. by 20 Weeks. This time, as of last Thurs., I've already gained almost 20 Lbs. :haha: since August (the last time I was weighed, before pregnancy).

I went from 125 (lost a few pounds the first couple months) to 161 when they induced me in the hospital.

EDIT: And I ate what I wanted, when I wanted. But I was also sick the ENTIRE time I was preggo with DD.
