How much did your LO weigh at 8 weeks?

How much did your LO weigh at 8 weeks of age, and what was their original birth weight? Also are you BF or FF?

My LO is 8 weeks old and weighs 12lbs 5oz. All of the doctors and HV have commented on how she is "chunky for a breastfed baby", so I was wondering what weight other babies of this age are for comparison? She weighed 8lbs 4oz at birth. She doesn't look particularly chubby to me, though she looks as big as most 3-4 month old babies I have seen (and she is quite long, 75th centile).

Do you think she looks big for her age? I took this pic almost a week ago, so 7 weeks and a bit.

According to my kitchen scale he is 9.5 pounds 8 weeks yesterday. He was 6 lbs at birth and is breast fed. He sounds little but he's getting chunky!

At 9 weeks he was 10lb 13.5oz. He was 7lb 14oz born. BF for 6 weeks and FF from then on.

At 8 weeks my LO was 9lb 4oz and was 7lb 3oz at birth. He was combi fed up until 8 weeks. I think my LO looks small because he's only chubby in the face, he's a long baby though so I guess the weight is just distributed more.

Your LO does look older than she is but I've seen much chubbier babies! I think Lucas looks chunkier in all honesty lol x

my son who is now 6 was bottle fed and he weighed 6lb 10 when he was born he was 4 weeks early but when he was 8 weeks old he was 10lb something at 8 weeks corrected age he weighed 12lb something

my daughter who was breast fed weighed 9lb 6 at birth and at 8 weeks old she weighed 11lb14

my son who was breast fed we stopped bfing at 8 weeks but b4 the change just on breast he weighed 11lb2 he was 7lb 9 when he was born

i dnt think it makes anydifferance to weight gain if your baby was breast or bottle fed :-/ my youngest is really ill he had a super slow start but he soon caught up with his sister

My LO was 8lb 6 at birth and 10lb 4 at 8 weeks, she dropped 2 centiles. She was BF expressed milk. I think your LO looks fine and very in proportion.

Your baby sounds normal to me! My son was 14 pounds at 8 weeks. He was 9.4 pounds at birth. Doctors always look at me funny when I say he's exclusively breastfed, like they don't believe me!

My LO was 11lbs 8oz at 8 weeks. She was just above 50th centile then but since 3 months she had massive growth spurts and is now 99.6th centile for length and between 91st and 98th for weight lol (she was 17lb 6oz when she was last weighed a few weeks ago) x

12 lbs at 8 weeks, he was exclusively FF. he was 8 lbs @ birth. He was a big baby but now he's very average toddler.

At 8 weeks my LO was 12 lb 4 oz and she was 7lb 3 oz at birth. She is in the 73% for her height and her weight. She is FF. She is now over 13lb and wears 6 month clothes and I dont think shes chunky. I thinks shes perfect

She looks perfect! What centile is her weight on?

My boy was 10lb 13oz at 4weeks 4days and which put him just over the 75th centile, but he was also long and just over the 75th centile for height too. So I was told that although he looks a little chubby he's perfectly in proportion!

Thomas was 6lbs 8.5oz born, BF for 2 weeks then FF. He was 10lbs 8oz at 8 weeks.

Two of mine were nearly 14lb at 8 weeks, they were born 9lb 12 and 9lb 6 respectively, both EBF at the time xx

Thanks for your input! Seems as though LO is right on track then, I was starting to worry she was getting too big too quickly what with everyone making those comments! Doctors and HVs should realise that us mums over analyse everything they say! Haha!

She is just over 75th centile for height and weight, so not way off average really. Like PP said, I think she looks in proportion so not sure what the "chunky" comments are all about (look at me getting all defensive lmao!), but she does have little hamster cheeks and a double chin lol so that probably makes her look like a little chubster at first glance!

DD1 was 11lb 3oz at 8 weeks (7lb 11oz born) she was FF
DD2 was 10lb 3oz at 8 weeks (7lb 7oz born) she was BF

DD2 had a few problems BF though and took a while to catch up, by 6 months they're following the same line on the chart!

I think that sounds average. My son was born 7lb7oz and was 12 pounds at 8 weeks old. He was breastfed until 8.5 months old.
It does slow down some though. He's 9 months and 21pounds.
