To a restaurant, soft play, zoo etc.

We hardly ever do things like this all together. And it's making me wonder if we should. We tend to only go to restaurants if its someone's birthday, although we do have a take away every Saturday lol.
Soft play is somewhere I tend to take the kids with friends when OH is at work, and things like the zoo etc would be special treats, as they cost so much.

There doesn't seem a lot we all do as a family, other than the usual, parks, walk, shopping etc. I can't swim, I have a fear of water, so I don't do that really, Zach hates it anyway. And Madi won't go anywhere with OH....

Should we be doing more. How much do you do?

Hardly ever, infact it's something me and OH disagree about ALOT.

He thinks the weekends are for staying in and watching football/F1 and sport really which annoys me. And LO gets all hyper because he needs more stimulation than colouring, playing with his toys and using the ipad/leappad!

In the week its always me and my sister/mum taking him out after preschool. Although OH did take us down to the beach on Monday evening for a firework show and then Friday took us to Toys r us and Smyths which he did moan about lol.

We only go out as a family for meals with his family or our friends LOs parties.

ETA - He's here now moaning about the coca cola truck  because its in the town centre on the last saturday before xmas so parking will be a nightmare.... MEN!

We do something most weekends but not necessarily a big day out or anything. This weekend we went to the pub on Friday straight from work, met the in laws there and had some food. Isobel stays up an extra hour or so when we do this but she enjoys it. Then yesterday morning we took her for a little local walk, about an hour, saw some ducks and geese. Today we probably won't go out as lots of housework to do but we'll both take turns playing with Isobel.

Every weekend we do family things.

Sat we normally just go into town and do bits and pieces and either have a coffee or a cheap lunch. It's within walking distance though so its not a big journey.

Sun usually DH takes Tom swimming in the morning while I do work but in the afternoon we go out somewhere - park or seaside or similar. Sometimes we go to the zoo or soft play but I tend to do these in the week with friends so Tom has someone to play with and cos of the cost of paying for 2 adults.

I'm lucky that DH isn't into football, rugby etc so never wants to stay home and watch TV at the weekend.

We do something pretty much every weekend as a family. Like hattie hippo, its not always something big, perhaps going to a nice garden centre with a playground & having a coffee; or all going for a walk together. Sometimes we brave soft play at the weekend, but not often lol!!

Me & oh enjoy the f1 & football - we just work around it. If there's a match we want to watch in the afternoon, we go out in the morning. Or if f1 & footie are on one Sunday, we'll have a full day out together on the Saturday. Then everyone's happy & we get a good balance :flower:

We do something every weekend as even though Sh runs his business from home, he works such long hours lately that me and alf only see him for a couple of hours during the week so we really make the most of the weekends. We go out for dinner every Saturday and Sunday and do things like soft play, swimming, country walks, shopping, the zoo, farms etc too. I'd hate to just stay in as for me weekends are all about family time and making memories :)

Xx

The only day we really get a chance to do family things is a Saturday because DH works all week & won't be home until at least 6pm, he is working on a big project just now so for weeks he hasn't been home until 8 or 9pm and even today he is out at work meetings :( So we make sure we do something nice every Saturday together. Normally we just go to a museum then the park and out for lunch but we also do day trips to other towns & cities e.g Edinburgh for the day. In the evening we usually go to a restaurant. On Sunday evening we go to either my Mum's or my sisters for dinner (we alternate turns for dinner so its my turn every 3rd week). We rarely go to Soft Play at the weekend, it's too busy and not enjoyable. DH can't swim so I take him swimming myself during the week, the odd time DH will come to the swimming and watch us from the cafe if he is home at a decent hour. Our Saturdays are very important to us. x

We find it hard to go for big days out as Aidan still naps in the middle of the day and doesn't often nap in his buggy. So we tend to do local walks, parks, woods etc. for a couple of hours a day on sat and sun.

We go out every weekend...we pretty much do lunch one day, afternoon tea or morning coffee the next. Depending on the weather, we will go to national trust places, the woods, pets corner, miniature railways, soft play, shopping...

Girls made us laugh today...ally got her shoes and coat and brought them to us shouting 'lunch!!!'

Lizzie just said 'yes, time for treats is right now!'

 cheeky monkeys!

We never do anything as a family :-( In order for us to be able to afford childcare we have to alternate days when one of us is at home. My OH is home with her every Tuesday and Friday and I'm off on Thursdays and the weekend although I do have to work some Saturdays. It works well but it means we never get family time unless one of us has holiday.

Every weekend - normally soft play or park , bowling

DH is away with work right now but usually we spend the weekend doing something as a family. Not always out and about but we try to play in the yard together or something. I can't wait for him to come home so we can have some family time again.

Sometimes our weekends (like the current one) is spent solely at home, chilling out, watching Disney films and playing with toys (and catching up with housework!).

But the next 6 weekends are mad - we've got 3 weekends away with different family members - Devon x 2 and the Cotswolds. The other three weekends we are doing Christmas fayre/light switch on, thomasland, Chester zoo to see Santa and going and picking our Christmas tree from the forest planned.

Weekends are often jobs on a Saturday and Sunday we do a big country walk, feed the ducks etc. Sometimes we go shopping.

We have zoo annual passes which work out cheaper and we've been 5 times in the last 6 months.

During the week lo has swimming lessons with me and we do soft play on my days off.

Family time is very important, but it doesn't have to be out the house. Playing hide and seek or cooking as a three is just as much fun for us!

We hardly ever do trips or days out, DH and I are not energetic, always on the go types. We both work full-time Monday to Friday, on Saturdays I get a lie-in while DH and LO go to visit his parents or go for a walk/ library and on Sundays he gets a lie-in. And as LO is still having long naps across lunchtime, our 'family time' is pretty much 3pm-6pm at weekends. I try to make sure LO gets out every day and does something fun at home, but it's rare that we do stuff altogether.

Not much as the 4 of us. My OH is usually off one day in the week, last week we took the girls to softplay and have vowed to make an effort to do it more often rather than the usual parks, walks etc. He is usually off a Sunday but I work a sunday!

We do go out a lot as a family at the weekend, although I'm taking advantage of Luke taking Lily out on his own one morning so I can have a rest.

We don't go out together much as a family as oh works nights fri-mon and Tyler is in school mon-fri. When oh is off work though and Tyler doesn't have school we go out together a lot nowhere big just for lunch or to the beach or soft play

We do something together every weekend pretty much, it means a lot to us. Hubby works away a lot and does long days, I work 3 days in the office and 1 at home so the weekend I ram with stuff whether it be going to my Mum's for lunch on a Sunday, usually incorporating a trip to the garden centres or seeing inlaws on a Sat or my Dad and Stepmum for lunch. We also plan in trips like Legoland, Woburn, National Trust, museums, big parks, paint a pot type places, seeing friends for lunch/dinner/catch ups. We always have visits planned in around the country, do fayres etc. The only thing we avoid is swimming as Molly is petrified.
