I've been watching Riya for that last 30 mins sleeping in her cot and I've noticed that she thrashes about a lot whilst sleeping. She sleeps on her tummy now and moves her head from side to side a lot and also her arms.

She doesnt usually wake herself up but does this mean she's not getting a proper night sleep.

Do your LOs do the same ?

yes morgan does the same hence why ive had to chuck him outa my bed

aint u seen that advert ... pampers ?where the baby is all over the cot !

scarlett wiggles and grunts, scratches at her eyes and face, sucks her fist and kicks all her covers off. it's mostly just the first 20 mins or so of getting in her basket and i think it's just worse until they go into a deep sleep.

archie sleeps on his back and is contantly throwing his arms around or rubbing his eyes, it used to wake him up but hes got used to it now!!!

Omar keeps rubbing his eyes, moving his arms, sucking his fists, turning frm one side to another & kicking his cover.

I dont knw if he's restless & if it affects his sleep.

OOh Darwin wakes me up doing this. He lifts both legs in the air and slams his arms down creating an almighty racket. Doesn't look much fun to me but he keeps doing it lol.

yea Sophie does it, usually if she wants a feed, we say shes dancing or boxing! She really can throw a good punch! Shes always kicking off her blanket, we cant even swaddle her now because she just wriggles out of it!!

Maia moves ALL around her crib when she sleeps - flips over, sleeps with her feet up in the air, sleeps on her face, and on her side, at the top, bottom and both sides of the crib, lol! One time I came in and she had both legs sticking through the bars and dangling down over the side of the crib. She doesn't seem too affected by it though. I've always said that both OH and I are "aerobic" sleepers (why we don't co-sleep) - guess she got the genes!

if Josh is sleeping on me, he wriggles his head almost as if he's wiping his nose on me, and in the middle of the night theres always arms appearing in the air... but recently he's started to giggle really loudly in his sleep!! when i go into Riley in the mornings he's usually in a completely different position to how we put him to bed!!

Megan is in a sleepbag that has velcro swaddle for her arms as I havent gotten her to sleep without her arms swaddled yet. Given that she should have less mobility having that on - I think she moves a lot. She moves down her crib (never up) every night. She also turns in circles and will end up the opposite direction that she started. She also lifts her legs up high and then kicks the mattress with a thud with them. She can move her arms in the swaddle and she usually sleeps with holding her hands together - but she can wiggle them up enough to start sucking on her hands and once in a while get an entire arm out - but then she wakes herself up so I have to get up and go reswaddle her. So I cant imagine how much more she would be moving if she wasnt swaddled at all!
