How much does/did your 14 month old eat?

Glad there are more hungry babies out there :D

I guess I will stop worrying now I know its more normal! xx

Emma's day will typically go like this:

wake up - approx 5 or 6oz cows milk
breakfast - usually Ready Brek with either honey or fruit puree
snack - 1 slice of Soreen, a couple of small rice cakes
lunch - sandwich (I make with 2 slices of bread but she never eats it all...usually eats half) a couple of cherry tomatoes, a Fromage Frais and a strawberry or two
snack - a whole banana
dinner - hot, usually homecooked meal (Eg bolognese, turkey & mash, cottage pie. I try to give a combination of meat, carb and veg). A fruit pot for dessert followed by fresh fruit - eg a handful of blueberries
5-6oz cows milk before bed

Emma will ALWAYS want to steal our food if she sees us eating!! So she usually gets 'scraps' during the day too!

Whenever I spoon feed her, I have to give her a spoon to play with. Otherwise she will turn her head away...

Tom comes and goes with food but at that moment he has hollow legs and will just eat and eat. We can't eat anything in front of him if we don't want him to have any as he will insist on having some even if he's just eaten. Yesterday he'd just finished his lunch and spotted his snack pot and shouted until I let him have a biscotti from it. He's just started walking and is growing again so I can only assume that's why he's needs so much food. He largely feeds himself with us spooning in when he's in the mood to let us help.

Today he had,

Breakfast - 6oz toddler milk, toast, currants, dried apricots and some cheerios, couple small spoons of my porridge.
No snack as asleep from 10am to 12pm
Lunch - some filled pasta in pesto sauce, 2 yoghurts, 2 cheddars with cheese spread, a few bits of babybel cheese
Snack - an entire Goodies carrot cake oat bar and a biscotti and 3oz of milk (he'd just spent 2 hrs walking/crawling round a soft play place)
Tea - Potato, chicken and pumpkin casserole, yoghurt, fruit bread, some banana
Bed - 8oz of milk - totally drained the bottle.

He's about 21lbs (25th centile) but 80cms tall (75th centile).

I love that she is a good eater. And apart from the odd unhealthy snack like chocolate and biscuits she does eat healthily, will happily eat any vegetables and is OK at eating fruit (she loves the fruit puree, not so good with whole pieces of fruit). Just worried she might be eating too much?

She does have a little belly and very chunky thighs

Hi! I have a big eater, too. She ate at least as much as yours at that age! And my doctor said never to withhold food from her when she's hungry -- just make sure you only give her healthy things. As long as it's healthy, let her have as much as she wants.

And don't rely too much on weight charts, either. Toddlers seems to go through phases -- get a little pudgy, then stretch out, then build it up a little again, and then stretch it out again. :winkwink:

And a healthy toddler SHOULD have a little belly like yours does! Babies are not supposed to look like supermodels. :flower:
