Per month. If possible pls break down costs. Tax, insurance and petrol and whatever else. Thanks xx

Tax: 180 per year
Petrol: 40 per week
Insurance: 48 per month

Depends on your car but thats what I pay

Eta: MOT is about 40 per year and you should always have spare money in case of repair or new tyres etc

I just re read lol

Tax is 180 per 6months
Petrol 30/40😆 (grr cant delete face) per week but I do lots of milage
Insurance 88pcm

We have an '09 Ford Focus 1.8 petrol

Insurance: £300ish for the year (we pay up front for the year)
Tax: £200 for the year (again up front)
Service: I think this was about £200 this year
Petrol: we tend to fill up once a month which is about £60 we don't need it for commuting it's mostly for short trips to swimming lessons etc, and then when we go to visit family.
Breakdown: £50 for the year
Car parks: TOO BLOODY MUCH! Bloody London.

Ours is more of a big one off annual cost especially as it is all due to the same month, month to month it costs us very little.

The thing that always catches me out is tyres!

Oh yes I have a locals parking pass too. Cost me 25 for a year. Save sooo much money x

I've got a toyota aygo and it's amazing!! Surprisingly comfortable drive, all the gadgets I need, and cheap as chips to run and maintain. It's a 1.0l petrol and costs:

Fuel - £50 a month (I use it daily and also 3 days a week I do a 40 mile round trip to work) :happydance:

Tax £25 per YEAR (I actually think the newer models are excempt from road tax)

Insurance: £12 a month, will be paying up front when I renew

Servicing and mot: max of £200 a year for both, never failed an mot and if it ever does need parts like tyres, wiper blades etc they are always really cheap.

Granted it might not be the fasted or the fanciest car ever but it's comfortable and you cannot fault it economy wise. I had a land rover freelander before this and that was hideously expensive to run!

I drive and 12' plate Mondeo. 2l Diesel.

I pay:
£130 per year tax.
£520 insurance (however has a performance air filter, has been lowered and is remapped. Normal insurance would be about £350). This includes break down cover and legal cover.
About £40p/w petrol.
Service I pay about £80 per 12k miles.

I pay roughly £160 a corner on tires every 20k(ish) miles. I still have another year until I have to get an MOT.

Look into local parking fees etc. My sister pays £80pa for street parking in Edinburgh.

I've recently had a 2007, 1.6 petrol Renault Megane. That was over £200 a year in tax an insurance was similar to my non sports performance quote on the Mondeo. It was also a disaster on fuel. About 30mpg as opposed to my 47mpg in the Mondeo.

MOT £100 ish per year..
TAX £220 per year
Insurance £400 per year

So 720 per year.. = £13 per week.... + probably £20 per week petrol.

so £33 per week.. OH Has one too, same tax.. Same insurance, same petrol (perhaps more).

Not sure on tax and insurance as I use my mum's car (I'm insured but it's her policy) but it costs me £50 to fill the tank up from running on empty. It's a Xsara (sp) Picasso and uses diesel. Lovely car to run even though it caused me considerable embarrassment driving it as a teenager. It's pretty old, maybe born in 2002? Not sure.

Per month I put in on average £200 in petrol. But I commute to Manchester for work and that's £40/week, then it's just normal driving. I drive a lot as a bus to Kendal (nearest town) is £12 so a car is absolutely necessary.

As for car parks, maybe £5 a month? Rarely use them.

I have a ford Mondeo ST
I pay £93 6 months tax
£49 a month insurance (it's a performance car)
And £30/40 a week diesel depending on where I go. Currently running 50mpg

MOT here are £56 and we get a friend to service the car cheaply!

2001 1.6 ford focus here

£50-60 a week petrol
Around £179 tax for 12 months
Last months mot & service £398
Insurance £300

VW Passat CC 2.0ltr diesel auto 59 plate:

£19 a month insurance
£180 a year tax
£20-30 a week diesel (incuded 3 days a week commuting 25 mile round trip)
Breakdown cover I get through my bank account
MOT - £30-40? We got free MOTs for so long after buying it so we haven't had to pay yet (same with Servicing)

Vauxhall corsa sxi 1.2 2006 reg
Insurance £92 per month
Tax £72 every 6 months
Petrol £25 a week

Tax: £276/year
Petrol: £20/month
MOT: not needed
Service: £130/year
Tax: £30/year

2013 Mazda 2 Sport

Tax: £160 for 6 months
Insurance: £600 a year
Petrol: £80+ a week (OH is a care worker that goes house to house)
MOT: No idea but my grandad usually does it as he owns a garage so not to expensive for repairs etc

We have a 2.2 petrol Nissan Almera Tino & it costs a fortune to run as we use it all the time & OH uses it for work xx

Range Rover sport, diesel, almost 3 years old:

Road Tax £500ish per year
Insurance £200 per year
Service, not sure yet, just bought it an the garage is going to do its first one for free
Fuel £150 per month ish (depends if we are doing drives to Edinburgh, lots of trips etc)

Reanult scenic 2010 place dci.

£46 a month insurance (BUT, that has added key protection, breakdown and is marked up for a 50/50 claim in november) So would be £29 if it didnt have all that.
Road tax is £110 a year, so £9.20 a month
it does 49-52mpg, but I drive about 400-500 miles a week so im about £60 a week in fuel.

Havent yet has it serviced etc.

Kia Rio 2005 plate, 1.4l engine.
£96 for 6 month tax
730 a year insurance (only passed my test last year and it halved in price this year)
120 a month petrol
35 mot, last mot in jan cost 110 in repairs.

Finance payment - £92pm
Tax- £30 per year
petrol give myself maximum of £100pm
insurance £28pm

Thats all, i dont need MOT's as i get a new car every 3 years and i have to get it serviced once a year - no idea how much this costs yet.
