Hi ladies!

I know that all babies are different but I am freaking out that my lil 1 is having too much??

She is a month old and takes 5oz she never use to drain this and we only put her up from 4 to ensure she was getting enough but now she is draining the 5oz at times during the day and example was yesterday where she had 2x5oz bottles then at her 7pm feed had a 6oz bottle then 4hrs later had around 4oz but then during the night only took 3oz but then this morning she drained her 5oz bottle so I made an extra 2oz and she nearly drained this!! My HV said that at times she may take more than other during the day but am just worried this is too much for her age? She doesn't sick any of it up so I take it she must need it?

Can u tell I'm a nervous nelly haha
Any info would b brill :)

Hi, in the red book it has a growth chart with her weight. I follow the line she's on and go by the weeks and if she's having enough and a bit more for the weight she should be then I wouldn't worry! My hv said 150ml per kg!

Remember though if we were breastfeeding we wouldn't know and we would let them have as much as they want!

I would only worry if the amount drops drastically and she loses a lot of weight.

I have been told and its true that bottle feeders can get hung up on amounts, I know I did!

According to our pediatrician the amount of formula a baby takes is more based on weight than age. He said a rough estimate is take their weight in lbs and multiply by 2.5(this is for babies who aren't taking any solids yet). If you are around that number then I wouldn't worry too much about it. My son was eating 32+oz a day at a month old, but he also weighed 12.5 lbs!
