how much overdue were you when labour began?

hello im desperate to join you ladies im 3 days overdue and worrying my baby will never arrive !!!
anyway thought i would ask if any of you went overdue and how long was it before you went into labour ? if you did or did you need to be induced?
i had my daughter at 40+2 so i was really hoping this little man would be similar but so far nothing !!
really dont want induction as im supposed to be having a home birth can anyone give me some hope? was there something you did the day you went into labour ? ive had no symptoms so far so im feeling a bit down

I went into labour at 40+6 and had her at 40+7

I was 1cm @ 40+1 3cm @ 40+5 & had her at 40+6.

I went into slow labour at 40+9 went in for induction at 40+12 (having pains) and was told I was 5cm and I had him that night

I was approx 3-4 weeks overdue, but we didn't know that at the time I went into labour. When I started to go into labour, I was "40+4" and had him on the 5th day. But when I was checked into the hospital, they noticed something wrong with my membranes and when he came out, the placenta came right with him instead of being delivered separately and it was deteriorated pretty bad. LO was also already "peeled" (the languo was falling off when they were cleaning him up).

I went 9 days over. Just woke up having contractions, 5 hrs later had my little man i didnt have any signs at all beforehand xxx

I went into labour at 42 weeks, delivered at 42+1.

I was planned for a home birth and refused induction. I think there is a bit about it in my birth story which is still linked in my sig...(I really need to update my sig, she's 8 months old).

I went into labour at 40 weeks + 4 days. I did have to be induced because everytime I went to the hospital my contractions would stop. There were changes in my cervix though so they couldn't send me home.

2 hours past my due date my water broke (I had actually just read about how only 10% of women had their water break before labour pains and told myself "ok so I should expect labour pains first"), but they had to induce contractions 30 hours later as I still wasn't dilating or having any. Had LO 48 hours after my water broke.

seems its not just my little man whos a bit lazy then !! youve made me feel so much better i had this magic date in my head and when i went past it started to worry incase he never comes out on his own !!! feel better now i suppose theres still a good chance he might arrive by himself !!!xxxx

I went into latent at 40 +7 I believe and had DS at 9 days overdue.

I started naturally and progressed to 9cm without any "help" but by then I had been in active labour for 12 hours and they started me on pitocin. DS was a bit stubborn and wouldn't turn his head.

i was 14 days late with ds & 11 days late with Isla. NO signs whatso ever & my waters broke in my sleep. Hour of contactions and she was here. It was super quick. x

I remember it so well!!!!

I was on here on my due date saying I was having absolutely no symptoms what-so-ever and I would probably have to be induced and that I was attacking the fresh pineapple as I was typing to try to help things along.

That was at about 9.30pm and my waters broke at 1.05am whilst laying quietly in bed watching a film!!!!

I was 10 days late, i had a sweep at 40+7 which was a Friday (the earliest my mw offered it), had on and off bleeding / show over the weekend but no pains at all, then went into labour at 6am on the Monday. He was born at 17.35.

thankyou so much i really do feel a bit better all ive been able to think about for 3 days is why wont he come out now i realise quite a few stayed in a bit longer so still got chance yet !!! thanks again yr stories are really helping me x

I know you you probably feel like its never gonna happen but it will! Naturally, or not, you`ll have your LO very soon

I was 3 days overdue and my waters broke, but no proper contractions. So went to be induced a day later...but didnt have her until 2 days later

I was 12 days over due when my contractions started. I refused all sweeps offered as i wanted as natural a birth as possible, an iduction was booked, but i went into labour the night before so wasn't neccessary.

I didn't feel any different to how i had on any other day when the pains first started, although i did have a mamouth breakdown of a cry cos i didn't want to be induced & an extremely hot bath so that may have started something..... either that or Bella didn't want to be forced out so left it till the very last minute!

never got labour last time but i was 1cm dilated and induced on 11 days after. looks like same will happen again.

I was only 2 days over with number 1, but 9 with this one!!!! I too thought that I wouldn't go as long second time round, how wrong was I?!?!
