So my newborn used to poo around 2-3 times a day, he's 2 weeks old now and a few days ago he hadn't pooed for over 36 hours and it freaked me out! He thhen did an absolutely massive poo, it looked like he'd done his 2-3 a days worth in one sitting. Now today its been over 24 hours and he hasn't done a poo yet, is this normal for formula fed babies?

I'm not sure if thats normal but my daughter only ever does 1 in 24 hours. Try cool boiled water if your LO hasn't gone within 3/4 days x

My LO usually has one or two dirty nappies a day. If it's just one, then it's everywhere! She has gone 24 hours without going before, but was looking uncomfortable so I think it was a bit of constipation. Some cooled, boiled water may do the trick for you

DD did this every now and then, but I think she normally had a couple of poops a day.

My LO is now on formula and poops every 2 days on average, and they are really stinky lol.

My health visitor says not to worry, but if concerned or no poops for 5 days or more to give them a call.

x

Mine usually goes once every other day, but sometimes goes 2-3 days. Apparently it's normal for them to go several days but I was told if she hasn't gone for 7 days or more, to go to the doctor.

We went through a long (blissful period) of one poo every 2-3 days (very predictably so I could land loads of them on daddy's shift as well).
