How often do fomula fed babies eat?

Hi,

This may seem like a silly question but I don't really know the answer. With my first child I only started using formula at 3 months. I have been told that formula fed babies feed less than babies who receive breast milk so I was curious how often you fed your newborns with formula.

My LO feeds every 2-3 hours through the day but is between 4-5 hours through the night

Up until about 5 days LO was feeding every 2 hours, after that every 3 hours then at about 6 weeks every 4 hours. Thats during the day, at night LO started going 6 hours from about 5 weeks, now at 9 weeks he is going nine and a half hours x

Same with my daughter! Although on the rare occasion she's hungry after 1 1/2hr. during the day or sleeps 6hrs. through the night until she's hungry.

yeah same here! my lo has done this today! every 1.5 hours claiming she's starvin then fallin asleep after 2oz!

We feed 4oz every 1 1/2 to 2 hours - at night he goes anywhere from 3-6 hours

we feed 2-3 oz every 1-3 hours, and at night it varies. we usually feed 8-11 times a day.

Our LO is a preemie so his hospital routine was every 4 hours so we stick to that. We let him demand feed at night but he tends to wake up around the right time!

When our little one was born we fed every 3 hours due to him not eating much. Then from about a month we fed on demand which was about 3/4 hours, Now that i have started my LO on soilds once or twice a day it is usually every 4 Hours can be 5 hours depending on what he wants but were still feeding on demand.

MK is now 12days old and is currently having 3oz every 3-4hrs, depending on the situation (ie night/day, being out of the house etc)
The first week she took 2oz every 2hrs really. Its seems its like an oz an hr
As pp said, sometimes she wakes up like she's starved and only has 2oz.
