She has a bath every night and I usually wet the front of her hair to get food out, then she has a wash with shampoo once a week. We use Oilatum bath stuff due to ds2 eczema. Her head/ hair doesn't smell very nice, kind of a musty sweaty smell. I don't want to ruin her hair but I figure the way to get rid of the smell is to wash it more? It only a little thing but I don't want people holding her and thinking she smells!

I wet my baby's hair in her bath every night but I wash it maybe once every 10 days to 2 weeks. She doesn't really have much hair though, it is short and sparse so not much gets caught up in it except when she smears her toast and nut butter on her head! Her head doesn't smell as far as I can tell, but to be honest I don't really smell her head. I also wouldn't smell the head of someone else's baby, so I don't think you have to worry too much about people thinking she smells.

I haven't washed her hair yet! I wet it. She has a little cradle cap though so i'll be following the replies.. x

I bath my lo every day but only wash her hair 1-2 times a week. She had a mild cradle cap so we are still using dentinox which smells real nice actually. The only reason i might wash it twice a week is when i have been leaning my face onto her head and i am using very oily moisturiser and one side of her head looks oily 😂
I do wet her hair on hot days too. But normally dont.

We're washing about twice a week but she has a lot of hair. Like enough im considering a trim at 3 weeks old

I've noticed her cradle cap has got a lot worse recently and the smell seems to be more at the front where it's worse. I might try dentinox if that smells nice

I wash DD2's hair twice a week. She has quite a bit of hair. She also has cradle cap and I use a shampoo from ASDA's baby range(Cussons mum and me baby shampoo) . Seems to be working fine and smells nice too ! X

The shampoo is actually on offer for £1.85 in Boots . X

We wash it every other time she has a bath, that said we use raw organic coconut oil and nothing else in her bath water, it leaves her hair/skin moisturised and is good at keeping her scalp in good condition.

Both kids have a bath together every night - the six year old because he gets stinky anyway, but the baby because she gets her dinner on herself :haha: I usually only wash her hair once every couple of weeks with a teensy bit of baby shampoo (admittedly she's still rather bald).

I wash it every time he has a bath which is every other day - sometimes everyday if he's been sick/had a leaky nappy. It's just a routine for us but he also has a little cradle cap so it helps with getting rid of it xx

Cradle cap can get infected, so if it smells different to how it used to it might be worth getting a doctors opinion.

We do a bath every third night because it irritates his skin too much to take a bath every night.

My wee one is 9 months and is only bathed twice per week. We used to do it more but since we cut back her skin is better (its perfect now!) and her cradle cap is all gone. Her hair is also getting thicker too, but that my be coincidental.

We also only use oilatum in her bath, epaderm to moisturise and we use dentinox shampoo. No nasty smellies! Our baby smells good too (we obviously top and tail in between or rinse her in the shower, lol)

Mine have a bath every other day and I wash their hair then too (of course if they get particularly messy or it is very hot & they are sweaty the are bathed more)
Every other day as otherwise they seem to get dry skin I use Oilatum in their bath

Neither has had cradle cap and I just use baby shampoo

When they were babies I would give them baths every other day and wash their hair every time they have a bath. Now that they are both toddlers I give them daily baths and wet their hair every day but only shampoo it every other day. They both have dry hair like me and it can get really itchy if shampooed daily!

I wash my baby's hair every other night...
He loves getting his hair washed and i love the smell of him after..

About once a week as his scalp is quite dry so any more fries it out more.
