I wasn't sure whether to post this here or in the kids section.

For those of you who have LO's who sleep well, how old were they when this started? I mean sleeping through the night and waking up at a reasonable time, or understanding they needed to go back to bed if they woke up too early?

Did anything happen or change at this time?

My eldest was 2 1/2 when he started. Prior to that he was sleeping quite badly and waking in the night to come in the bed with me. At 2 1/2 his baby brother was born. We moved DS into a toddler bed so he no longer slept in his cot and from that night on he was been sleeping amazingly well. He's now a heavy sleeper and nothing much wakes him.

My middle son is 2 and I'm hoping something similar will happen with him but I'm not sure if we just got lucky with DS#1.

My two have done it at different stages.
My eldest woke up most nights until he was about 3 1/2. He actually slept really well as he did 13 hours over night but he would just wake a couple of times and needed tucking back into bed and went right back to sleep so we weren't really up for hours each night with him. His stopping doing that actually coincided with when my youngest stopped feeding during the night so possibly her being up I the night affect DS.
So DD was around 14 months when she stopped waking regulary.
Both of them still have disturbed nights every now and then. While DD was teething she'd be unsettled. I'm quite a light sleeper so I tend to notice things more than OH. I know that a few times each night DD will whine as if she's going to cry but then doesn't.

I cant remember exact ages but Alex slept through faster than William did, but now William sleeps through, been doing that for about a year now. They get more sleep than I do.

I can't remember with my eldest 3, but all 3 of them had to share a room until they were 6, 8 and 11... so bedtime/night time was always a total nightmare with them!

My 2 year old was always a good sleeper, she is deaf in one ear, and tends to sleep on her good ear - so can't hear anything which means nothing wakes her! lol She has slept 7pm-8am since she was 6 weeks or so.

My 1 year old on the other hand, has only just started sleeping through over the last 2-3 weeks!

My toddler has only been sleeping through & sleeping well for maybe 2 weeks now :)

At 2.5years Ihsan started sleeping better but he only first sttn at 3years, a few weeks ago. He still wakes briefly a couple of times most nights.

Owen has been sleeping through the odd night for about 3 weeks, however its still not reliable that he will go through till morning.

Just recently, but he still wakes up once or twice for water or cuddles.

My LO went from waking up every hour to sleeping from 7pm to 7am when we moved her into her own room at 7 months. I couldnt believe that moving room was all she wanted.
