Hiya,

How long after your c section did you wait to start TTC?

xxx

All depends on how much of an emergency and your personal experience, how deep they cut, etc. I had an elcs due to iugr. They told me it takes two years for a woman to recover from a pregnancy. I was advised to wait at least a year, preferably 18 months if I wanted a vbac and a safer pregnancy. I did get pregnant 7/8 months after losing Joshua, but mine wasn't an emergency and very standard, and had healed ok. Best to speak to your dr/consultant for their opinion.

Ds1 (born by emcs) was 9 months old when I fell pregnant with ds2.

My ds was born by emcs, had a tough time after with septicaemia and organ failure inc drains and other many things! Was on the pill but fell pregnant with dd when ds was 9months old had a healthy pregnancy and a amazing elcs after goin a week overdue :)

TTC a year after emergency c section for dd - managed to get my vbac with ds too

My 1st was about 18 months old when his brother was born...

We left it nearly two years and i'm glad we waited, I feel a lot better knowing i have completely healed. I was told to wait at least 12 months before trying again to avoid complications. Im going to try a vbac this time so hopefully the 2 year recovery time will help.

After we had our son I we had discussed waiting for his first birthday until we tried again. Well someone had other plans for us and we had a BFP when he was just over 6 months. So our son and our daughter will be 14 1/2 months apart. My doctor has advised me that a VBAC is kind of out of the question, but that my csection will go much more smoothly this time around and it will be more of the ideal birth plan than my first birth was. I know if we hadn't been surprised I would not have choosen the children to be this close together, but since it just happened I cant imagine it any other way.

I conceived baby number 2 10months after an emcs with my daughter. I have been told I have a 70% chance of a successful VBAC...fingers crossed!!

I concieved 5 months after the emcs that delivered my twin sons. My OB at that time had known how much we wanted a baby and had said if I wasn't pregnant within 8 months after, I should come back to him to help us. My current OB doesn't foresee any difficulties, although this will be an elcs. I haven't had complications to date.

My son was 17 months old when i fell pregnant with my daughter. We planned on a minimum 2 year gap so it wasn't due to medical advice that we waited. Having said that i did feel that waiting was a good thing to do medically. I had a lot of pain in my scar for a long while afterwards and wouldn't of been happy getting pregnant while i still had all of that pain.
