How soon can you take a bath after a c-sec?

A bath? I wouldn't for a while, your scar can't be submerged. You can shower but you have to try and keep it dry as possible. I wouldn't take a bath for at least a month or so. You will need to see your dr a few weeks after having baby so he can check out scar.. Dr will give you more of an answer

Omg... A month!? I don't clearly remember but last time I think I took a bath 3 days after my discharge.. Isn't there a way to prevent the wound from getting wet?

I was told I could bath, perhaps it depends on the type of stitches? I was allowed by the time I went home which was a week.

Yep you can have a bath no problem just make sure to dry the area well afterwards. I probably waited a week or so purely due to not being able to get down into the bath until then as it hurt too much.

I found the biggest problems of baths was getting in and out without feeling like I was going to split into two. I don't recall any limitations put on me for getting it wet though.

I showered morning, noon and night when i was in the hospital for 3 days after my c-section... it was AMAZING! We only have a bath in our house and the showers there were so powerful it gave me goosebumps every time! I loved it! I was actually sad to leave lol! I bathed the day after getting home which was day 4, and i bathed every night after xx

Yep same here. I had a bath for the first time after 10 days but only knelt, it was nearly 3 weeks before I felt comfortable laying down.

I had a bath within a couple of days. It was the only way to remove the residue off the dressing.

I was told to wait 2 weeks before I submerged the incision. :flow:

I wasn't told not to have a bath, but I too can't imagine getting in and out without hideous discomfort. Climbing into the shower tray was bad enough, and standing up off the toilet!
