How to budget and plan ahead?

How is everyone budgeting for their baby?

I jus saved saved saved.
My whole pregnancy I tried to save $100 a week.
I now stopped working, and I had to buy all my babys stuff, but I still have enough left over to live off of until my maternity benefits kick in.
Its hard but really was my only choice, since my OH isnt around right now.

we were horrible with money with our first bub :S But we were also pretty lucky because we got given pretty much everything we needed. Including months supply of nappies.

We are also pretty lucky here because we get around $5000 (AUD) when we have our first baby and $3000 (AUD) for all other bubs.

We have a pretty good budget now including all our bills, food, clothing, birthdays, xmas, etc.

For this bub specifically we are planning on using around $1000 of the money we get from the government on a good double pram and carseat. $the rest will probably go towards getting ahead in all our bills.

For bub when he/she arrives,
I plan to put away $10 (AUD) a fortnight into a bank account under bubs name
$40 a fortnight for nappies and wipes
$10 a FN for clothing allowance
$20 a FN for birthday/christmas

We already have most of the stuff we need for bub from our last baby, especially if this bub is a boy as well.
