Toothpaste is making me gag so bad it's near impossible to bush my teeth right now - ANy tips to get around this and get my pearly whites... white?

Ooh it's the same for me. DH suggested I get some of that toothpaste for kids that's strawberry flavoured just to see if I do better. TBH I think some of it is that when I'm feeling queasy I can't stand the toothbrush near the back of my mouth, so I'm trying to time it right in the day and keep my toothbrush with me in case I have an hour where I feel a bit better. Fingers crossed the aversion wears off soon!! xx

Thats a difficult one! I find putting the toothbrush in my mouth makes me gag! Have you tried different flavoured toothpastes? I have to brush my teeth in bits throughout the day to manage to clean em, rubbish! xx

I'd like to know too! Brushing my teeth ends with me spewing :(

try different flavors of toothpaste, or just brush with water. Toothpaste is really just needed to help keep calculus to a minimum if you tend to build up fast and protect you from cavities (as long as it contains flouride). So as long as you can atleast get some brushing with just water, that should get the plaque off the gumline, and then try some floss to get everything clean between your teeth, you should be okay. I am a dental hygienist and even I am having trouble brushing and flossing, so just do the best you can without making yourself vomit. And if you do vomit do not brush your teeth for 20 minutes, just rinse with water right away and hold off on brushing so that the acid from vomiting doesn't wear away your enamel (which can happen if you brush right away)

I found that it was the actual brushing that made me gag not the toothpaste, try brushing as before you start gagging and then rub some toothpaste onto your teeth, that helped me

I am just planning on bringing tooth decay back.

Seriously though, it still makes me gag! I wish I could give you some magically advice! :haha:

Im the same, will try mouth wash I think x

Use your fingers ladies. Take your toothpaste onto your (cleaned) index finger and rub onto your teeth. Rub a bit and then gargle and rinse. Follow with Listerine if you can handle. Also, you can chew on orbit sugarfree gum if you feel your finger doesn't clean well....

I had this with Hannah. I found that switching to a toothpaste that was less foamy really helped :)

Oo I'm gunna try different toothpaste, maybe a kids one or something cos I think it may actually be the foam and really strong taste/smell that is my prob!
