how to get married abroad

how do you go about organising a wedding abroad? me and oh have been talking about it and would love to go abroad to get married just with the kids and a couple of family members. i know we'll have to sort out lots of paperwork and stuff. ive been looking it up online but would love to hear ppls personal experiences. thanks! ps, im not sure which country yet, oh likes italy!

We got married in Cyprus last year & booked everything through a Travel Agent, they do most of the work for you so a little less stressful or you could find the place you want to get married & organise it directly through them x

I'm getting married in Turkey next year, all i need to do is the invitations and dresses etc they organise SO much of it

I am looking into this at the moment, I think we will go via a travel agent. They seem to do most of the work for you. I am now waiting for prices for late 2010/early 2011 to be released! Can't wait!

We got married in Jamaica. Our travel agent arranged everything for us. It was quite simple, we planned the rest with the wedding planner at the resort once we got there. Took like 30 mins. that was it. And everything turned out great. Good luck.

Well, for my OH this was abroad. We couldn't do it via a travel agent's though since I am from here, but it was quite something. W had to go to town hall, ambassy and all sorts. I thought it wasn't easy, but that was because of all the paperwork and stuff.
