My little boy is 6 weeks tomorrow and about a week or two ago we switched to Gerber Soy plus because his little tummy couldnt handle regular formula. Im not sure if hes constipated or just getting used to the formula. His stools are a little thicker than peanut butter and he seems to have a hard time passing them, is there anything i can do to help him poo better? I heard to mix an ounce of apple juice in his bottle, is this effective or safe? any ideas, PLEASE HELP:hugs:

My LO got seriously constipated last week-so bad she went off her food and we ended up taking her to the paeds at the hospital as she was in agony.

She has only ever gone every few days anyway, but doctor said to mix some apple juice with one feed every day-she will not drink water and juice. I dont add an ounce-maybe 10mls once a day.

Works a treat! normal poo and passed more easily.

It sounds like only mild symptoms at the moment, so the best bet is to give a little cool boiled water on a regular basis. 1-2oz per day will keep things moving in all but the worst cases.

Personally, I would talk to LO's doctor before giving fruit juice.

My HV advised 2 oz of water a day and it did help x
