this question may seem really stupid.. but, i'm traveling at 36 weeks pregnant (by plane) to see my husband  (haven't seem him since 4 weeks; army).

my question is, i don't want anyone giving me a hard time when i'm flying. is there any kinds of clothes to suggest to hide my bump? i'm really tiny and my bump isn't incredibly huge.. but i have 3 more weeks to go until i fly..

(note: i am just asking of ideas of what to wear to avoid hassle and questioning. the airline i am traveling with requires a doctor's not 7 days before due date, not any before. i have also OK'd it with my OB, and will OK it again at my 35 week appointment. :flower: )

Oh wow, how exciting for you! I would say that if you've talked to your doctor and they have given the okay for you to fly that late, then who cares what anyone else says? And if you aren't sporting a bump that looks as big as many other women whom are as far along as you, then other people may not even think twice about you being on a plane. (I am sure that it is okay to fly any time during first and second tri, and in the beginning of third-If I saw a preggo person on a plane I wouldn't think twice about it, personally...unless they looked like they were going into labor...LOL).

I'm not sure if it would work- but maybe just wear baggy clothes if you are really that concerned?

Yikes I dunno how possible that is at 36 weeks, your tummy is gonna explode soon enough :)

I would avoid maternity clothes as they seem to accentuate the bump in a cute way. Maybe just a baggy black T-shirt and a light coat???

i didnt think you was allowed to fly at 36 weeks not just that but most airlines ask for proof of how far into your pregnancy you are. and insurance companys dont usually insure you at 36 weeks incase you deliver why you are away or on the flight

not here in the states. as long as you are healthy and having a good pregnancy most airlines only require a note from a doctor if you are within 2 weeks of your due date. and you don't need any proof.

I'd get a doctor's note anyway, stating how far along you are and that you're okay to fly, just in case. Then, if you don't want any hassle, wear a wide t-shirt (and layers if weather permits) and if anyone asks you if you're pregnant, say "how dare you!". :haha:
Seriously though, I'd get the note just as a backup...

....if people do ask, you could always just tell them you have an inoperable hernia. :haha:

thanks ladies. it's mostly the TSAs im worried about. i have not had pleasant experiences with them in my past recent travels

It might be even harder to hide it cuz you are so tiny everywhere else! If you were a larger women it would be easier. I really have no idea! Maybe a big cardigan lol. and then hold a bag in front of your bump?? Wear all black on top too

lol this made me laugh :haha: but i was thinking the same thing. judging by ur avatar we are the same exact size, twigs!

he he i suggest even-ing out everywhere else so two round cushions for boobs, some padding around your arms and a nice big jumper! sorted! or buy a puffa jacket lol

Defo a big Cardigan, underneath something loose and flowy, maybe black? Just nothing tight!! Play around with ur clothes and maybe ask ur friends/ family advice?

I usually wear black baggy tops and have found a few people haven't noticed my bump so that might be the way to go.

xxx

It'll be nice to hide it from OH too and then flash your bump at him!! :haha:

Just baggy clothes ... uum .. mine's really easy to hide lol :dohh:
A maxi dress could be your best friend or your worst enemy in this case so maybe try one .. ?

:flower:

And if anyone asks when your due, just look at them and pretent to be upset.
"I'm not pregnant actually ... " :haha:

:flow:

if i wear a black tshirt unless u see me from the side alot of people dont notice im pregnant lol so like someone else said id wear black and carry my bag infront of my bump. but dont try to hide urself too much as that will draw attention to u.

its ashame the army wont bring ur oh back to see u :(

either tell people your earlier on, or pretend you don't understand english!!! i've done it the odd time and it works a treat!!!

I would not even worry about it. People might ask you just to be curious but other than that I don't think anyone will care. I travelled to Disney at 34 weeks years ago and everything was fine.

Wot bout like a scarf i know its August :) but i wear the light fashiony ones all the time into work cos my boobs r ridiculously huge! an they tend to do a great job hiding the bump(S!!!), an mayb like a waterfall front cardigan that falls all the sides of the bump? iv got loads o those wit no sleeves an theyr great comfy an not too warm xxx
