Any advice? Every time we BD it all comes out. I laid down for 10mins with my legs slightly raised (had to get up, so couldn't lay down for longer) and it all came rushing out. I was so upset. I'm not sure what to do without softcups or how to keep it in without raising my legs for ages.

Any suggestions would be awesome x

Sperm that makes it past the cervix does not come out, which is why when you're no where close to ovulation it will all come out, because the cervix isn't low or open to accept the sperm. During the ovulation phase even then some will come out, but in theory the majority it still inside and close to or past the cervix. There's no true way to tell how much is making it's way in because the amount of sperm can vary and of course it mixes with arousal fluid and CM and vaginal fluids, which will also cause some leakage. The idea of laying down simply helps to aid in conception without the additional pull of gravity but it's in no way proven to aid in conception (the theory is that every little bit - including soft cups - helps). I wouldn't worry about it too much tbh, and certainly keeping semen in without ovulation coming on (ie CD 27) wouldnt be necessary :)

During ovulation your cervix should be high to make the journey from cervix to fallopian tube easier for the spermies:

But anywho, here is TMI. I have DH "finish" from a "doggy style" position really far in me, then I quickly try to get my butt onto a pillow, or we finish missionary and he stays in for a minute and moves out slowly with my butt kind of in the air. The we stick a pillow under my butt so that my hips are *slightly* raised, but not too much. THEN I kind of lean to one side with my knees up, and just relax for about ten minutes. THEN I roll to my right side (hips still elevated) for ten minutes, and then again on the left. I have found that even with using PreSeed the stuff stays in pretty good! Of course there is a little leakage, but I can tell most of it stays in for that 30 minutes cuz a lot comes out once I go to the bathroom. I know the ones that are gonna stick will be up there by that time.

The fluid that is leaking out after ten minutes is just the left over semen. After about 10-15 mins, if the sperm haven't made it into your cervix they will die anyways, so any extra that comes out after is useless. But if you think about how much sperm is in a drop of semen, you have likely gotten more than enough in you to do what it needs to.

Yes, exactly :)

I have a pillow (covered with a towel). Once we a done the deed, elevate hips and DH put the towel underneath me.

But any sperms that is going to get to the egg get to the cervix straight away.

thanks ladies, i always get super paranoid that none of the sperm reach theyre destination. i have this fear that it all leaks out but i guess in reality, you can't tell how much sperm was released etc
