Okay so everyone has trees and decorations, but you know how sometimes you can go into someone else's house and its REALLY Christmas-y and cozy and lovely, and then you go in someone else's and they have all the decorations but it doesn't have the same feeling? Any suggestions as to what that is?

I know what you mean.

We have our tree up and what not but it doesn't feel Christmassy around here. Go to my friends and it's more cozy and Christmassy.

Ok, my house is an upright total disaster with messiness right now as we've been out all week and leaving early and coming home late. So I guess that doesn't help.

Honestly, I think often it's the lighting too. I find coziness comes with lower lighting effects such as candles on the mantelpieces, etc. I also find smaller rooms can create the cozy effect too.

Definitely candles! Ours always feels Christmassy when it's a bit chilly so you need a big dressing gown or blanket and have tealights/candles everywhere.

Might stick some candles around. I saw a goblet candle holder set the other day that was really nice, I bet that'd help

hm My mothers house we have always self made stars (black carton , with coloured transparent paper) and other handcrafted and candeles etc :)

I wrap all the pictures in the house to look like presents and then hang them back on the walls or put them back where they were....looks like presents all over the house!
