This seems like it would be so easy to figure out, but I'm really struggling In my head I pronounce it "knee-ko," which I suspect is wrong.

This is exactly how we pronounce the name in Germany, where it is quite common, I might add.

Nico would be pronounced Nick-o IMO by American English, BUT in TV and in Spanish language culture it is Knee-co, so it has pretty much been pronounced knee-co anywhere I have seen or heard.
