I just posted my story as to how i'm a single mom here:
https://www.babyandbump.com/single-parents/35717-start-6.html
As Ted and I didn't really 'end things on peaceful terms' I don't exactly know what made him change his mind as to why he doesn't want to be part of his son's life. I want to be as honest with Landon when the time comes so he feels he can talk to me about his birth father, and we can both respect Ted's wishes to remain uninvolved.
I'm not sure if I should give Ted one last go on asking him why, but truth be told, I don't think he even has figured out for himself why exactly. All I know right now is that Ted wanted to pursue a music career and his out of state college education. Ted's parents grounded him from dating his senior year as punishment for getting his girlfriend pregnant (crazy, right ?) so we'd have to sneak around, and I think that finally just got the better of him. I'm sure it was REALLY hard for him to continually do that.
How have you single parents out there talked to your kids about their birth parent's not being there?
Again, I won't have to worry about this for quite some time, but I don't know if I should try to speak with Ted before Landon is born about the matter. (I don't think he'll actually have an answer though anyways).
