I'm trying to think of cute ways to tell my mom and grandparents (and the in-laws) when I'm pregnant.
I know my OH will be with me when I find out, no matter what lol, so he will already know.

I keep thinking of buying a little bib or onesie that says something like "Grandma loves me!" for my mom. I really want to surprise her with that. Same goes for my grandparents... maybe getting them a card or something that says "Congratulations!! You're going to be a great-grandmother..." or something. My grandma will be more excited that anyone, I think. :)

I am hoping to wait to tell them until I'm at least 8 weeks... I would prefer 12 weeks but I know I really won't be able to wait that long. I think my OH wants to tell his parents as soon as we get our BFP but I really don't want to do that... we will see, I suppose!

I bought these shirts and will be giving them to my parents to open,

I also got this one for my sister

Since my family lives so far away I will be on the phone when we they open them

For my husbands family we are going to get a little bassinet to keep at their house and have his mom open it.

:baby:

I dont  I was robbed of that when I lost Hadlee. I was almost 17 weeks when her heart stopped beating, so now I dont want to tell anyone until it is obvious and I have too. I just dont want to have to go through that all over again with everyone if I dont have to.

I hate bringing attention to myself so we'll keep it simple. I'll probably just sneak ultrasound pics in a card or something for our parents. Will probably tell close friends and family around 8 weeks and then around 12 I'll let the news spread on it's own. I don't picture myself doing fb announcements or anything like that.

When I find out that I am BFP, I won't tell my husband until I am at least 8 weeks pregnant. He worries too much and won't let me do anything. Heck, we're ttc now and he won't even let me take out the trash.

As for the rest of my family, including in-laws, I'm going to keep it secret for as long as possible. I don't want to deal with the stress of getting calls from in-laws, parents, aunts every other day asking how I am or nagging me to death.

I am avoiding as much stress as possible for my baby and avoiding the potential mood swings I might have talking to them:thumbup:

We won't tell till 12 weeks but I think I am going to visit family with lo wearing a t shirt sayin big sister and see how long it takes them to notice

DH always knows when I'm testing, so he'll known when I know...

We've got a list of a few people we want to call and tell right away, so that they know and if anything goes wrong, we have some people to support us.

I have to tell my boss, our welfare officer and our H&S lady at work, and as they are all people I'm good friends with, I'm happy for them to know as they would be the ones OKing time off and support if anything did go wrong.

I guess it depends if anyone has a bday close to when we find out as we might just upload a scan pic to moonpig or something and then customise it.

I want to tell my mum/dad and MIL/FIL at 8 weeks, and then my sisters at 12 weeks. My SIL and youngest sister are both 14, 15 by the time we ttc. I dont think either would fully understand the dangers involved with that first trimester. But i guess it would be hard to keep it a secret if we found out at 2-3 weeks.

I'm convinced people will guess really early! People already ask if I turn down a glass of wine/cup of coffee! And I've been off with a stomach bug this week and colleagues were hinting was I pg when I felt nauseous!

Ahhh, I love fantasising about this. :) Obviously, DH will know, but we won't tell anyone else until after the 12 week scan. I keep watching pregnancy announcements on Youtube, and want to do something similar.

I love this T-shirt, so I might just wear it around our families and see what happens. ;)

I'm not sure how we'll tell our parents or anything yet but I know with my younger sisters I'm gonna put a copy of the scan in a envelope and let them open it and find out that way :)

I also will probably not be telling family and friends until at least 12+ weeks along. Had a friend tell everyone the second that she new and a few weeks later had a miscarriage, she then had to deal with the loss and having to answer everyones questions. So I am going to learn from her and not say anything until we are almost through our first trimester.

When the time comes, I'm going to tell OH I think I may have a fever and need to take my temperature, walk out to OH, holding the pregnancy test, and ask him to read the "thermometer" for me.

As for our parents, siblings, close friends, etc. I'm going to text a picture of my first sonogram and wait for a reaction.

As for breaking the news on Facebook to everyone else, I will put my first sonogram as my profile picture, and my due date as my status and wait for everyone's reaction.

I have watched all the pregnancy announcements on youtube also and it has me anxious to do it also. We will video record giving everyone their little gift. We are starting to try in early october so if it all works out perfect we will be able to do it at christmas :rain:
