How would you feel?

Hiya girls,

So basically I'm trained in makeup and semi-permanent eyelash extensions. I am trying to gain clients as i am just starting out in charging for my services. I currently don't drive, although am looking to change this in the very near future. And i don't have any spare rooms in my house. A few of my professional friends in the same industry were all wondering the same thing..... Would you feel comfortable going to your beauticians house and getting a treatment done in an area set up in their living room. No one else in the house would be present. The area would be sectioned off by room dividers and would be set up in a professional relaxing scene. We know it isn't as ideal as a seperate room, but if we were mobile we would most likely be doing the treatment in the clients living room anyways. Bare in mind, the treatments i offer dont include any need to take clothes off etc. So no waxing or massage etc. Just make up and eyelash extensions at the moment.

Any and all opinions are welcome, at the moment its just an idea as being mobile is very limiting.

I wouldn't, but I wouldn't have it done in my own home either unless by someone I know. I have friends who I know wouldn't mind though.

I wouldn't mind. Massage or waxing may be different, but make up etc wouldn't bother me. They do it in the middle of shopping centres

This is true. How about laying on a beauty bed (massage table) and having your eyelashes done. You would just be laying there with your eyes closed so not exactly exposed or anything. It would just be in a part of my lounge rather in a separate room in my house.

I'd personally prefer it as I find salons a bit 'clinical', but there are people out there who would be more comfortable in a 'professional' place. You can't win them all

Wouldnt bother me. I think you need a sign outside your house or something though just to let people know where it was. Id be a bit nervous to go to somebodies house for something like that just in case i got the wrong one! Or put a sign on your car (i read elsewhere that you have one) in the drive way so that people know its the right house when they arrive.

If it were to involve stripping down (I know it doesn't) I would prefer my home but for anything that doesn't require getting naked, anywhere is fine for me. Especially if a cup of tea is on offer too.

With my beautician - eyebrows, eyelashes and nails - I go to her house or she comes to mine, dont think anyhting of it really!

Thanks everyone for your input. I think i might have been worrying myself over nothing.
I will deffo make sure the house is well recognizable. I have posters of the products i offer, so will put a few of them in the window.

Wouldnt bother me at all. In fact i would find it easier to go to someones house, espesically now i have a baby, the amount of toys in my lounge you wouldnt even be able to fit your stuff in here haha!

I get my eyebrows threaded in the middle of Superdrug which doesnt bother me at all.

Also my mum used to always go to this ladies house to get her nails done and she loved it. She stopped doing it so my mum now goes to a salon to get them done, which she still likes as she gets on really well with the people at the salon but i think she prefered going to someones house.
