Quick Question:
I had mt HSG on Friday. Holy $h1t that hurt. I did the pre-procedure antibiotic and anti-inflammatory as directed. Had a mild reaction to the dye. Got dizzy, and nauseous. Once that passed I was itchy all over for about 30 minutes. I read this was because contrast dye can cause a flood of Histamine in people with other existing allergies not just iodine and shellfish. So my latex, penicillin and other random allergies made me a bit sensitive. That being said. Friday was not pleasant. I had a lot of cramping the rest of the day. Like really really bad period cramps.
Friday I was on the couch. But the rest of the weekend left no opportunity to take it easy. Life was way busy. So I just took my meds like a good little girl and hit the sack early. Once I lay down I noticed that the cramping was there even through the meds. Well I figured I would have taken in easy. Oh well life goes on.
Now it is Monday and I am still getting some cramping. If I am up and about or do lifting or cleaning or any other moderate activity. It takes about 45 minutes of sitting to calm the cramping down. I stopped taking the anti inflammatory meds because I didn't want to miss an important signal that my body is trying to tell me. These cramps are kinda like light period cramps. Enough that they are uncomfortable and you notice them. but you are not ready to reach for the bottle of Motrin/Mydol/Tylenol (name your choice).
I am thinking by now I should be 100%. It has been 3 days. Is this residual pain something that I should be concerned about. I haven't had any bleeding and I haven't been running a fever that I know of. Do you think that I should give it some more time or give my Dr a call.
Thanks for reading this far. I am sorry if I am long winded. But I always err on side of TMI.
