I went this morning for my HSG and :happydance: my tubes are clear.
However, the radiographer told me that my womb is completely upside down. She said that she has heard of it before and thinks that they may be able to do something, but she was't completely sure. I have to say the news has knocked me for six and I feel absolutely gutted. I have to wait now until September to see my gynae and find out what happens next.
Has anyone heard of this before?

First of all, great news about your tubes!

Did she give a name for your uterus? It sounds like it might be slightly bi-cornate which isn't uncommon, I have one. It just means that you're more likely to carry babies in the breech position. In some cases you can be more likely to miscarry, but generally its not a concern.

Can you ring your gyane after he/she has seen the results just to get a name for the position of your uterus and see if he/she thinks it will affect anything? September is too long to wait to find out something like that.

I'm sure it will be ok hun but I understand the fear of the unknown :hugs:

Good news on your tubes! I hope your doctor can give you an answer after they see your films.

Not heard of an upside down womb but have heard of a tilted womb though which can be very common and not a problem.

Thanks FJL,
She didn't give me a name for it. I could try ringing her, but to be honest in my experience she only looks at my results/notes just before I go in for my appointment.
I really wish the radiographer hadn't told me anything. i have so many questions to ask and I think I will go crazy by September.

Although google can be a little dangerous with bad info (LOL) try googling it and if it comes up with bicornate or heart shaped uterus, then don't stress out, come back to me with the answer and I shall try to keep you calm :D!!!

Just found this for you hun, hopefully it will help to put your mind at ease until your appointment :hugs:

Thank you so much FJL. That really has put my mind at ease. It sounds about right. At my first internal scan a couple of years ago I was told that my uterus was tilited, but I didn't realise that it was the same as an upside down womb. I think I got scared by the thought of it being literaly upside down.

I went to see my GP today (about an eye infection) and while I was there I asked him about what the radiographer had said. He said it probably is a retroverted uterus and that I shouldn't worry too much about it. He is going to get my results from the hospital and I have to go back to see him next Friday so that he can talk it through with me.

goodnews bout tubes hun hope docs appt goes well....i was bout to say couldnt u ring ur gyne but as ur seeing doc they shud know xxxx
