hubby won't buy me what i want!

ok, so i sound really spoilt, but i'm not, honest. i am trying to persuade my hubby to get me some boots for christmas, but he is refusing. he says they are not a proper present because it's something i need rather than something i want, and also that they are too personal - i would have to choose them and try them on first.

thing is, he's right, but also wrong! i do need boots - my current pair hurt my feet because they are old and the lining is worn - but i also want them. i can't justify spending the money on them myself, so the only way to get any is as a present. of course, i would need to try them on, but i have said i will find several pairs i like and let him choose, which means i also get to go boot shopping without it costing me anything, which is fun! that's no good because i will still know it's boots.

so, my current tactic is to say i will not buy him any of the dvd's on his list because he will know they are dvd's!!! trouble is i have no idea what else i would get him, as money is tight and we have set a budget which precludes anything else i can think of, plus i can't think of anything else to ask for from him and he says he doesn't know what to get me!

perhaps hes already brought you a special present and dontr wanna spoil it?

Tell him u can't afford to buy him a present if he won't buy u boots coz u will have to buy yourself new boots.

thanks, ladies - sulking and threatening not to get what he wants seems to have done the trick! trouble is, now he's sulking because he had to give in!
