Just a quick post to see if anyone uses hungry baby milk? My baby boy Harry was breast fed until 11 weeks, stopped as he was too hungry for me. He still wakes for a couple of feeds at least a night he's 16 weeks now should I be using hungry baby? He's a big boy at 18 pounds! Thank you c

Heya.

Only consider Hungry baby milk if he is drinking 9oz or more at each feed and going very little time between feeds (like every 2 hours or more frequntly). Otherwise its best to stick to first milk. xxx

My LO is 17 weeks- was taking between 6-8oz every 3.5hrs and 9oz at last feed before bed. Health visitor advised me last week to try hungry baby milk as she said 9oz before bed was too much! LO now sleeps 8.45pm ish to 6.30am.

Ah that sounds quite similar to Harry! I think I may try it then, he finishes his last bottle and seems to want more! Thank you

Off topic but all my friends use hungry baby milk jus to make their LO sleep through! Each to their own but. Was quite shocked! X

Ive seen this too. I think there needs to be alot more education and advice given from HV on this subject and the fact that its very normal for a baby under 6 months old NOT to STTN. xxx

Exactly my thoughts! When I asked my friends what HV said they just commented on how they'd wanted to know the amount baby was taking NOT what formula they are using!

I use hungry baby milk, my HV recommended it when my baby kept cluster feeding and taking a big bottle every couple of hours and then taking too much and spitting it all back up and projectile vomiting, she said the hungry baby milk would probably satisfy him better and stop him throwing up so much and last a little longer between feeds and it has. It's been a god send for us.

We had the same problem at just 3 weeks old. He would just eat and eat until he vomited and then demanded more. He is so much more settled on the hungry formula and doesn't eat to the point of vomiting now and can wait 3-4 hours between feeds.
