husband shoots blanks:(

i need advice i am new to this and would dearly appreciate some advice so we have been trying over a year now and nothing has happend, we decided to go to the dr, i had to do blood work while my husband had a physical and then had to do a SA turns out that he has NOT one sperm in his test (now he waited 3 days before doing the SA i dont know if that matters dr said between 3-7 days) now we have to go in to get his blood work done! i am just wondering if we are going to be able to have a baby naturally? if this has happened to any one else? or any advice for this new journey we are going to be going on! it would be dearly appreciated to here other peoples story and also what to expect


i have not yet received my blood work back yet! so not sure if i have fertility problems as well! hope to be reading from some of yous, i am very troubled by the outcome of my husbands results so any advice would be very appreciated!

Only way for you to have a baby is by IVF or ICSI.
This morning I just read an article about a man who shoot blanks but able to conceive, with ICSI.

ok well we were looking at a few things and apparetly you can take medication and do the surgery or get shocked to get spermies to come out if there hidden! i just cant find much more of it! but after his blood work comes in he might get referred to a specialist if its something our family dr cant fix himself! i just want to hear people whos husbands have had the same problem and what happend or is happening now

troubled, did you DH deliver the test to the SA center? The reason I ask is coz sometimes the centers let the semen sit their for a while before they test and that invariably screws up the result. My Ob/gyn advised us not to get my DH tested in their hospital as most results come out abnormal in their clinic. So, got him tested at a fertility center last week and they make you give them a fresh sample there. Also, you're supposed to be abstain for atleast a couple of days. My DH went for 4 days. Sorry, I might have not been of much help, but maybe make an appt with a FS after the second SA? That way you'll have some idea as to what road you might have take. I can understand how unsettling this can be, but try to keep your chin up. Hope everything goes well for you

he went to the hospital all the fertility drs are 2 hours away thats why we are waiting to be referred!

Well my dh has it too. Once we found out that he shoot blanks we went to specialist who did ultrasound to see if had varicocele veins which he didn't and then did hormon check bw which came back fine, we had to take a break but then had a testicular biopsy and led test to see if had any blockage, well his hormones are fine and he's producing them and has no blockage, he's classified as non obstructive azoospermia, we are using sperm donor bc ivf is not financially an option. Hope this helps with any questions, but after 8 years i still find myself asking if there is anything we can do but health care is to high for our income level

well i know my husband is getting a lot tested when he gets his blood work done but the dr thinks it might have something to do with his brain! my husband is supposed to wear glasses (which we are now waiting for) and he hasnt since he was in kindergarten, so every sunday he gets a headache for all week squinting his eyes and what not! so hes wondering if his headaches are a problem in this! but hes got alot of blood work to get done

That has to be hard to hear. Im sorry..

Although they have no sperm when they ejaculate some are still producing them, like my dh has them in his jewels but they don't come out, he has some type of blockage that cannot be seen or fixed, or could just be mental (as involuntary) so he could start ejaculating them on his own but highly impossible, so for IVF they get them from the testicles and wash ect.. get them ready for implant.
