Husband has vetoed Stella, Delilah, Lucy, among others... his choices that I like are below. Favorites?

Ruby
Violet
Everly
Nakita
Scarlett
Lacey/Lacy

my DH wanted Scarlet too but i think only because he loves Scarlet Johanson (sp?).

great names though, i voted for Violet.

Everly, Ruby and Violet - love all of them :)

I love Ruby! It just makes me think of the 20's. Not sure why but it does.

I voted for Everly - also love Violet & Laci!! Ruby & Scarlett are pretty as well - very nice choices to pick from!

There are lots of good names in that list. I voted for Scarlett

Thanks ladies! We are seriously considering Scarlett Everly or Violet Everly.

Ruby is very close to my name Ruthie so I'm not totally sold on it. DH says it'll be awesome to say "Ru..#eee" and both of us will turn around, not!

Love the name choices! Everly is my fave, with Violet second. I like Scarlett, but really dislike that people would probably shorten it to Scar.... I don't like Nakita at all, sorry.

Everly is my favourite from that list. Sounds like your hubby likes very girly names. I also like "Nikita" not "Nakita". I know a girl named Nikita and she was incredibly outgoing, smart, and funny. She was named after La Femme Nikita.

Yes! DH likes sassy, feminine names as long as they're not too cutesy or dull (in his opinion).

We took out Nakita because it is a family name but it was also the first name of my aunt that passed away young and we decided that we don't want to link that tragedy to a child of ours. I wanted to honor her but it is really sad.

We are down to Scarlett and Everly. I'm stuck! Scarlett is so popular and I already know one in our neighborhood. Everly is so girly and still a little rock and roll but I feel like it'll be as dated as Tiffany and Ashley in a decade.

I wouldn't worry about the name being dated when your daughter is older. All names come in and out of popularity. Scarlett will do the same. I love both names though!!!

Think of the nicknames they might get and go from there. The Nikita not Nakita I knew went with Nikki as her name. Ruby would be Rubs etc etc. So go with the one you like best.

I just talked to DH about it and he said he's really liking Everly right now over the others. Funny that he thought it was weird, then okay, and now it's his favorite girls name.
