Ive always suffered from this condition and ive been treated since i was 12.
Today i had my endocrinologist appt and he said my thyroid is hypo, even though im on 50mcg of levothyoxrine. Im only 4 weeks pregnant. I really hope this doesn't lead to another loss. ive been having a lot of hypothryoid symptoms but i just chalked it up to other reasons. My BBT has been super low too (on my FF chart). I was worried I might MC. I know that can indicate it. I also know, though, that low thyroid can cause low BBT.

he doubled my dose to 100mcg. he said it would take 6 weeks to stabilize and hopefully get under a 2. In 6 weeks i will be 10 weeks pregnant...i know that thyroid is VERY important during preganncy. Ive had MS and i know thats a positive sign as far as it being unlikely to MC. Im just nervous. What will happen if it stays at this level for a few more weeks, esepcially in the high risk period of pregnancy? Anyone else have this condition? In my previous pregnancys, my thyroid was well medicated and everything was kept normal. This is the first one that its started out badly.

I too am Hypothyroid. I lost twins at 23 weeks due to an undiagnosed untreated thyroid problem.

With this pregnancy, I had my levels checked the day after I got my BFP. They were high and I also doubled my Levothyroxine and went back and had levels checked again at 8 weeks. They were maintained throughout my pregnancy and monitored. I made sure to take my meds at the same time every day on an empty stomach. My baby is 3 months old and PERFECT.

I know how frightening it can be as I went through exactly what you are going through. All you can do is have your bloods checked routinely and make sure to take your meds as prescribed. Baby has his own Thyroid at 12 weeks but its still crucial to keep your levels under control.

Good luck.

Keep us posted and feel free to pm me if you ever need or have any questions.

I don't have anything helpful to add other than that I know what you are going through. I am also hypothroid. Its very worrying. My thyroid was very abnormal when I got my BFP. When I first became pregnant my endocrinologist's office gave me a really hard time about wanting to see a doctor instead of a nurse practitioner. The nurse practitioner told me that she would see me every 3 months to have my blood checked!!!! It's so annoying that people don't seem to understand how serious this is. I'm seeing the endocrinologist now and am doing fine so far thank God!
