I haven't been on here in ages but my partner and I have recently split so I thought i'd come and say hi. We have a daughter who is three in May called Evelyn. I'm getting my own place soon for me and Evelyn and i'm really overwhelmed. I'd lived with OH since I was 18 so for nearly seven years now so it'll be the first time i've lived alone. I know I won't be actually alone because i'll have LO but you know what I mean! So yeah, hello :)

Hey Jelly,, im going through a separation too and we have a 3 month old baby.... yeah and i know what you mean, i feel lonely too sometimes, not actually missing him, but missing male company, sounds kinda pathetic?? maybe? lol..

The first [i dont know how many] months were hard, I wont lie, not because I missed him [he was a nasty piece of work most of the time] but because I had NEVER lived alone before [moved out of parents house at 16 to be with him] and since then he had always controlled bills etc. I did get quite lonely for adult company in the evenings at first too. Now though I genuinely LOVE living alone [with LO]. I love learning how to become an independent, self sufficient woman, i make ALL my own decisions now, my daughter is thriving, i got to choose all my own furniture/decor etc, I cook and eat what I like, I have whoever I chose in the flat. And i'm at uni so have plenty of work to do in the evenings. It's ace. And ultimately I am healthier and my child is happier.

It will be hard but I know many single parents who believe they are in ideal situations [myself included!]. Big hugs hun, hopefully you'll find the positives in the situation soon :hugs:
