I mean I love them because I like checking on my baby boy. (And it gives me some thing to do.)
But I really hate when the doctor puts her fingers in my vagina.
Like honestly I don't even let my oh do that. Or anyone. Ever. I don't even do that! To me it just feels so gross and uncomfortable! I honestly don't know how girls can like that crap! Ouch!
I just hate anyone going in down there with fingers. And they say it hurts when you're in labour and they check it. Is it true?
Cause if it is, oh lawwwwd give me strength!

Why is she poking around in there?! lol
I was uncomfortable with this too but knew that obviously having a baby I'm going to have to get used to it.. but my doctor still hasn't even done it a lot at all! Once at my first appointment when I was 12 weeks she checked my cervix (that was uncomfortable because she used the clamp thing )
Then I didn't get checked AT ALL until yesterday when I was 38+2 weeks. And I asked to be checked because I was curious to see if I dilated or not (which I wasn't :sad1:)
But no it didn't hurt that bad.. it definitely is a lot of pressure though, she would push on the bottom of my belly while her fingers were up there and it was really uncomfortable pressure feeling! I can see how if you are having contractions and already are in a lot of pain how annoying it would be but it wasn't too bad at all, IMO.
Still though I'd be really irritated if almost every appointment I went to she had to poke around in there.. I really only had to have it happen to me twice this whole pregnancy and like I said the last time it happened I asked for it.. so I don't know how many times your doctor does that but that's weird!

Lol I just HATE being touched down there >__<
I guess I'm just modest

I'm just a really private person when it comes to that stuff I don't blame you!

Yeah in labour it was fucking awful for me! I was in tears sorry but it was bad, but not for everyone! I had to be checked at 19 weeks and it was horrible! (you only get checked here in labour)

Oh and when in labour you will NOT give a crap about it! I had my legs in stirrups with about 6-7 midwives and nurses and 2 paeds.. LOL

Lol! ^__^
Thatwhat everybody says! When you're in labor you literally don't care!
I am just kind of scared about the whole experience :/

Yes, you will be checked internally. You just get used to it. :hugs:

I can't stand anything up there anymore. Everything is so swollen that sex is uncomfy. :/ I have 4w before internal checks and I'm already dreading it.

I have internal checks every week. It's awkward...I close my eyes and try to think about ANYThInG else haha

What's so awkward is someone being down there. I get all squirmy.
One time my mom was in the room with me and the lady goes "if only you were always that modest!"
I was like"...bitch"
Lol!

They will check you in labor, probably multiple times. I was checked at least 3 times, though I was having a lot of complications.

I was scared of labor too, but honestly, once you're headfirst in it, it's not like you can go back, haha. I kept telling the nurses and my boyfriend, "I'm scared, I'm scared!" And the nurse told me, "Honey, you're already in labor, and that's the hardest part!" I assume she meant the contractions, haha!

How far along are you? I was checked every week from 38+. (My son was born at 41w.)

I'm 24 weeks now :)
I think I will have to be induced because I am on blood thinners for pulmonary embolism (2 actually).
They're blood clots in my lungs.
But the doctor told me I can't be on the blood thinners for 24 hours before labor.
And I heard it hurts a lot more when you are induced :(

Try not to think of it like that since everyone is different! :flower: Labor isn't easy but you will survive! :D My mom was induced with me and she said it hurt, but labor in general is no walk in the park. I'm sure you'll do great! :)

I just feel like afterwards you feel so acomplished and powerful and that's what I'm looking forward to! Haha
My mom had 4 c-sections!
My grandma said that when she gave birth she took it like a woman! Lol
I know I can do it. The only thing I don't want it the doctor sticking his fingers in there and adding more pain
Did you have to get an episiotomy? (The cut to make the birth canal bigger?)

Haha after my son was born I was just exhausted. Exhausted and thirsty and they wouldn't let me have water till the doctor was done with me, so it was like 15 min after my son was born!

I'm assuming your grandma didn't get an epidural! Are you planning on getting one? I couldn't have done it without an epidural, but I'm such a weakling, haha.

& I did have to have an episiotomy sadly. I was hoping I wouldn't, but I was pushing for about 20 min before they started numbing me with shots (they didn't tell me the shots were for it, but I knew.. I saw the scissors!). Not too surprising, my son came out at 8 lbs 10 ounces, 22.5 inches long.. The average is 7 lbs, 18 inches, so my son came out biiiig in comparison! haha.

Aw that good! A healthy boy!
I hope I have a healthy baby boy : )
I definatley don't want an epidural! I want to do it all completely natural.
I wanted an epidural at first, and I know I might want one when I'm actually there! But I definatley plan on doing it completely naturally thoguh :)

I did it naturally...well no meds at least. I was induced with pitocin because of gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, and toxemia?(not sure if I spelled that right) it brought labor on quickly but I did it so can you! :) and I didn't have to have an episiotimy either! yay! No tears or rips or anything! Just a bruised feeling haha

You can absolutely decline to be checked. Ever. That is your right.

I'm excited! I feel like its suuuuch a long time til' April though! I can't wait to see my little boy! :)

Butting in! I had an episiotomy and I didn't even feel it! They didn't even tell me I only found out when the nurse came around the next day to check my stitches lol and it was only when he was 4 days old when we got discharged that I found out I had that and not torn! Lol

.. Also, I don't think you can deny being checked completely as they need to check how dilated you are for pain relief and more importantly when to push as I was needing to push at 9cm
