This morning, I found out I have a bun in the oven. Yes, I AM excited! However, I am only 18. How in the world do I tell my parents? I'm afraid they're gonna be ma and kick me out... I have an appointment set up with my OBGYN for the 14th.
First off, congratulations!! I'm justine, 17, and have a 7 week old baby boy. I can honestly say having a baby is one of the biggest joys in life. Your parents may be mad but i'm sure they will move on from it. Just try not to stress yourself out too much about it. Wishing you a happy & healthy 9 months!!
First off thank you to both and congrats on your children! I am only afraid because honestly we have been ttc and they know that. They did not condone it one bit. Should I wait till after the first trimester?
Congratulations hope you have a happy and healthy nine months. Telling parents the sooner the better really! If they are aware you've been ttc surely it won't be a shock? Xx
Congrats and Welcome to BNB!
As for your parents, theyll get over it. Most usually do. Just let them know after your appointment, or whenever your comfortable. As they know you were ttc, it really shouldnt be a huge blow up!
Im Lisa, and Im 21. My daughter Emma is 3 and a half and my son is just about 7 months
Congratulations and welcome! As others have said, it's easier to tell them sooner rather than later. Approach them in a positive manor and make sure you let them know that you are happy and that you want them to be happy for you and your partner. It will be a shock for them at first, but they will get over it eventually.
I suppose that makes sense. I plan on telling them after my appt and the first person I will tell is my grandmother.
I'm Brittany, 18 and according to charts I'm 3-5 wks. We will find out at the appt!
Hi Brittany! Welcome & congratulations! I'm Shannon, 22, I have a 3 year old & am 23+4 with #2.
We TTC'd our 1st when I was 18 so I know how you feel. It's scary because while you're legally an adult, they still see you as their "baby", kwim? If you want to wait until you're in the 2nd trimester, I think that'd be fine. I knew I wanted to get it done and over with because I needed OH to move in with us and I was horrifically sick. Just remember though, they love you and will always love you.
Same here!
Congratulations darling Best wishes for your pregnancy and the journey of motherhood.
With telling your parents, maybe wait until you have seen the doctor. It's best to just tell them. Parents are usually cranky at first (if at all) but by the time they see their little grandchild growing away, they tend to warm to the idea. Best of luck there too xox
You will be fine , I think!
Congrats!
I am Ashley, 17 and due with my second July 21, 2014! I had my first when I was just 14. My mom was disappointed and upset, but not angry.
I will be graduating high school in June and off to college this September!
Well ladies, everyone knows now and they are all very excited! Way better response than I thought it was going to be. They actually already got toys and a diaper bag! Excited grandparents to be!
First of all congratulations. When I first told my mom she cried and it was a little weird for couple of week but now she couldn't be more excited. Your parents love you and will support you no matter what. They might get mad at first, but they'll move on from it. You need to tell them! Pregnancy is the met amazing thing in the whole entire world. I'm Becca and I'm 34 plus 4 with a baby girl!
