but she never gives me good advice. So as a last resort before either calling her or calling my mom to take me somewhere else I thought I'd get somebody elses ideas as to what the deal might be, or if I'm just going nuts.

I quit taking birth control a year ago. My periods are regular and they are always heavy. Three or four cycles ago I had been very sick and had two positive pregnancy tests, went in for blood work and she said it was negative and I bled for two days so she gave me heartburn medication.... yeah

my cycles have been normal since then. All roughly five days and heavy in length. This cycle lasted, at the moment, only 2.5 days, heavy with clots and tissue. I have also had a slight uti for nearly 3 or 4 weeks now.

Also, when I went in for bloodwork last time she checked for everything and said I'm perfectly healthy other than my anemia.

I have had stomach problems my whole life (it comes and goes in waves), but she keeps saying its a bug or heartburn or something silly along those lines. I'd really like an ultrasound or something...

Am I being a hypochondriac or do you think there is something wrong? please and thank you!

I think you should ask to see another doctor and explain to them. If you were pregnant m/c before blood tests were taken, you may have needed a d&c.
I am a firm believer in "you know your own body" and if you feel something isn't right then your doing best to act. The best outcome is that there's nothing wrong but if there is, then at least you know and can act of fixing it xx

I agree. If you don't trust your doctor's diagnosis or don't think she listens to you, you should seek out another doctor who will talk to you about your concerns. I think if you wrote down all of your concerns, including dates and descriptions just like you have here, and take them in to a physician you will be sure not to forget anything and they will be able to read over all of the information to better take stock of your situation.

I know how frustrating you feel especially when doctors don't listen to your concerns, I'm convinced I have fluid behind the eardrum but Ent thinks otherwise, Thinks its time maybe for a 2nd, 3rd, 4th opinion and possibly a long complaint. But if it's stomach acid you are having, you should get your doctor to refer you for a endescopy of the stomach.

I've been trying to for a while now. A patient complaining numerous times over the course of years about stomach pains I would think should be referred to for SOMETHING. Not just some blood work here and there.

Get another opinion! Seriously.. I got sick of my doctors trying to tell me that there was nothing wrong with me just because my blood work was okay and I sent an email off to a specialist gynae and he managed to fit me in for an appointment at his emergency clinic - now I have to have surgery next month to see if I'm okay - and I did this behind my docs backs because they refused to help!!

If you feel something is wrong only you can tell.. bloodwork does not tell you everything. Is there not another doctor you can speak to??

If you're anemic are you on iron tabs? Are you having anything for your stomach acid problems?

I do take iron. She gave me something, but I don't take it. I always end up coming home after I visit her to research the various medications she prescribes me.

Where are the pains? If they are below your bellybutton they are more likely to be connected to your pelvic region (uterus etc) or your lower digestive system. If its like below your ribcage it could well be your stomach...
When I have my acid reflux flareups I get pains in the middle of my chest and up my esophagus as well as penetrating through to the middle of my shoulderblades.. feels awful! You'd probably know if it was heartburn, I don't think it would be connected to your stomach if it was, its usually acid pushing its way up..

If you've had bleeding problems or heavy periods you could request an ultrasound and don't take no for an answer! Or see a gynae who may be able to help you.

Hope you feel better soon or work out whats bothering you :hugs: x
