I made my own nappy!!! Wohooo! Update 1 **POOPLOSION UPDATE!!!***

Totally indulgent thread but I made my own nappy! First time I've touched my sewing machine in donkeys! Took me from about 3pm and just finished it now. My stitching on the velcro leaves a little to be desired but the rest is not bad!
I did an AIO from a layer of bright pink polar fleece, then waterproof nylon, then two layers of white cotton terry with a double length two layer cotton terry soaker sewn in.
All I need to do now is see if it will hold together in the washing machine... then see if is absorbent enough! See Shelby modelling it below!
Bring on the custom nappies!!!!

Edit: it looks bulky as there is a sposie underneath lol I didn't want her peeing in it before it was washed properly!

Update 1 - well its washed and hanging out drying and its stayed in one piece! And I've made another this morning! I need mroe fabric!!! lol

Its super bulky - think I'll use it as a night time bum - I think I did too many layers plus too much soaker pads lol. I'll pop it in the wash tomo with the rest of my fluffs and see how it goes!
Looking at it I think I'll need to redo the velcro as the stitching is catching already and pulling.
Have to say - the pattern was brilliant - very easy to use and loads of instructions!

Well Its offical! It works! Shleby just did the biggest pooplosion she has done in her life and it was well contained in my nappy. I'm amazed and totally chuffed! I@m going to go cloth nappy making crazy now!

https://www.darlingdiapers.com/buyddu.html it cost $12.50 but it is well worth it. You download it and print off what bits you want. I've only made a AIO with a front velcro fastening in Medium with quick dry soaker so far. There are loads of options on which ones to make from aio to wraps to side closing, different elastic combinations etc. I believe there is about 60 different combinations you can make from this pattern so plenty of choice!
It was soooo easy to do and I'm a beginner sewer! I can manage it in a couple of hours - most of that spent trying to cut fabric straight lol.
